Chapter One
Taker walked
out into the garden, on a warm summer night. The moon shone brightly. He sat on the bench in the midst of the garden, near
the fountain, as he listened to the soothing sounds of the flowing waters. He sat meditating, as a soft hand touched him gently
on the shoulder. He looked up into Sara's brown eyes.
"You came back!!!" He hollered jumping up, grabbing her, raising
her above his head, and twirling her around.
"Yes. My darling Taker. I'm here. And I'm never going to leave you again."
She began to kiss his face and neck very softly, holding him tightly in her arms.
Taker unable to contain himself.
Remembered the last time they were together. Didn't want a repeat, carried her into the house, up to his room, to his bed.
He lowered her gently to the bed, sliding next to her. He took her face in his large hands, and began to kiss her face, neck,
and finally claimed her mouth with his.
She responded with exploring his mouth with her tongue. Then, all their pent-up
frustrations began to unleash. Breathing hard, they looked into each others eyes with such intensity. They began to undress
one another and allowing their hands to explore every inch of each other's body.
"Oh. My Dark Love. Are you sure this
is what you want?" He asked hoping upon hope she would say yes this time, without any hesitation. For an answer she locked
her mouth on his.
They made love until the morning light. Which found them sleep in each other's arms, exhausted.
Taker woke with the sun shining bright through his room and the birds singing outside the window. He reached for Sara
finding her not there, looking around realised neither was he at the Mansion. 'Damn dream again' He thought.
He has
had this dream over and over for the last seven months since Sara walked out of his life. It always begins and ends the same.
He thought.
'I don't get the girl.'
Sara was waken by a loud noise coming from downstairs. She sat for a moment
listening, when she heard it again. Reaching over to her nightstand next to her bed. Open the drawer and pulling out her gun
she kept when her husband was out of town.
Slowly she got out of the bed, walking quietly to the hallway. Looking
down to her daughters' room, noticed everything was quiet. They were still sleep. She walked to the top of the stairs and
paused. A groaning could be heard from below.
She cautiously began to walk down the stairs, gun ready. The groaning
once again, as she continue down. As she made it to the bottom, there laying on the floor was her husband, Del. He had been
badly beaten and shot three times. It amazed her he had made it this far.
"Del! Del! Oh my darling, who did this to
you?" He didn't respond. She watched as the man she ahd loved forever was slowly slipping into eternity. Sara stared in disbelief.
He had just died in her arms. She screamed with all that was in her.
"Noooooo!!!! She bend down to kiss him one last
time, and froze. In her arms, laid Taker.
"Taker, Nooooo!!!!" She sat up screaming, in a sweat. She has had this dream
every night for a week. Suddenly the phone rung.
Hello." She answered the phone still shaken by the dream.
"Hi
Sara. " It was Jay.
"Jay. What has you calling me so early in the morning?" Knowing a call like this meant something's
brewing.
"Sara. We have a situation." Meaning her talents were needed.
"Meet me in an hour at our usual place,
for info." Jay hung up.
Sara sat in a park waiting for Jay, when a old fat lady approached and sat down beside her.
She laid a paper bag next to Sara.
"Inside is the info you need." Jay began disguised in one of his many disguises.
"Usually, you wouldn't be on this case. But, you are the best. And the lives here are very valuable." Jay began to
tell her about the case and who was involved. She listened as she looked off in the distance.
Taker got out of bed,
showered and dressed. Went into the kitchen for breakfast, when the phone rung.
"Yeah." He said very irritated.
"Hi,
honey. Did I catch you at a bad time?" The voice asked from the other end.
"Oh! Erin. I'm sorry. I haven't had my
coffee. So, how are you this morning?" He realised he was unuually grumpy this morning. Somehting having to do with the dream
he kept having.
"I'm alright. Are we still on for today?" She asked.
"Sure. Give me an hour. And I'll pick
you up." He answered.
"Good. See you then." She hung up. Taker had been seeing her for about four months. It took
him a while to get into anyone after Sara. Then Erin came along and with the urging of others.
He started dating her.
She was a nice person, and the sex was good. But deep down he knew something was missing. Yet, he knew it was time for him
to get on with his life. Hopefully, she would be the one who could help him do just that.
Taker picked Erin up as
promised. She loved riding on the back of his bike, with the wind blowing through her hair. But, she loved holding onto him
more. She was falling in love with him. And hoped he would start feeling the same about her.
But she felt something
was holding him back. They came to the park they frequent. Sitting under a shady tree, with his head in her lap. Erin decided
to push the issue.
"What do you want from this relationship, Taker?" She asked.
"I don't know what you mean."
He didn't want to get into this conversation. Especially with the dreams of Sara he was having.
"Do you love me?"
She wanted to know. "Ah-h-h-h. Yeah. I love you. But I don't know what exactly you want from me. He was trying to be evasive.
"Thanks. That was very convincing. What I want from you is love, Taker. Intense love. I know how I feel about you!
I love you. You are the sweetest man I have ever had in my life." She got up, his head falling off her lap, almost hitting
the ground.
"Do you know how it feels to love someone and not have them to return that love?" She had struck a nerve.
He got up. She had never seen this side of him since they've been together. She looked into the green eyes that always held
her softly, and deep into angry ones. She became afraid. "Let's go!" He turned and walked to his bike waiting for her
to catch up. When she was safely on, rode away. Seeing her home, he went back to his apartment to his room slamming the door.
She didn't know she had reopened an old wound. And events to come may change her relationship with Taker forever.
Chapter Two
Vince along
with the McMahon clan, invited DX up to his Lakeside cabin. Taker, Kane and Lauren were included. He felt having them in a
more relax setting, would get them into the upcoming storyline. They were really enjoying themselves.
Kane, X-Pac,
Tori and Lauren went swimming in the lake. While Triple H and Road Dogg were lounging under the trees in hammets. Linda and
Stephanie sat by the lake watching Vince and Shane, try to fish.
Taker sat in the cabin thinking about his conversation
with Erin. He had called and apologized to her for being such a grump. More like a bear, she told him. They laughed, with
him telling her they would talk more when he came back.
Something in the back of his head, kept telling him he was
making a mistake. Sara was still out there, and they had unfinished business. And until they were solved, he couldn't make
any promises to Erin. Little did he know. As fate would have it. Events to come, would dictate his decisions.
They
had been there a couple of days. During one night as they slept. They were awaken by a loud crash. Running out of their rooms
to see what was happening, they were met by men with guns aimed at them. One was an ex-employee who had been fired.
"Hello
again, Mr. McMahon. My friends and I want to discuss how unhappy I am with my severance pay. Ha! Ha! Ha!" He laughed while
they all stood in shock.
Sara sat quietly, as Jay explained the hostage situation from the information he had received.
"Sara. They have Lauren." There was no easy way of telling her. She continue to stare off.
"They also have
Kane and Taker." Jay watched as she arose and walked a distance, still not saying a word. He had seen this many times. She
was getting focus on what she needed to do.
It was highly unusual to use an agent on a case that involved someone
close to them. This was an exception to the rule. He needed her expertise.
"Okay Jay. I'm gone. You will here from
me when everything has been secured." She picked up the bag off the bench and left. He thought as he watched her leaving.
'I
almost feel sorry for the men who took her daughter, Kane and Taker, the man she loves. Even though she won't admit it.' Then
he left to await her call.
Sara went back to her apartment, crying as she sat on the bed. She wondered if she would
be able to save them. She took a picture of Lauren in her hands, as she began thinking about her husband Del. She remembered
how they had grew up together, fell in love, and married just out of high school.
A year later they had their first
child, Lauren. She was so beautiful. She would never forget the feeling when she first held her. And a year and a half later
they were blessed with Leslie. They were so happy. Then one day, Del came in, telling her about this new job he would be starting.
He was so proud.
She didn't know until the night he died. He was an agent in a secret division of the government.
That was the same night she met Jay. She made him explain to her what was going on, he had no choice, she could be relentless.
And against his better judgment, she convince him to help her join the agency.
Her first assignment, by her choice.
To find her husbands killers. And find them she did. When she caught up with them, they had wished they had been thrown in
a snakepit than to have dealt with her. Her husband's killers were put away, but it didn't stop the pain she had felt for
him. She had never loved anyone so much, since. Until she met Taker. It all seemed hopeless.
She soon snapped out
of it, as she looked at her daughter's picture. 'Don't worry my darling. Mom is coming. And God help those who have you, Kane,
and my darling Taker. She prepared for the task ahead.
Chapter
Three
The men had taken the hostages to another location.
A week had past since they were abducted. There were no apparent clues to their whereabouts. Sara went about searching the
premises, thinking it very strange no ransom had been requested.
The police hadn't been notified, as yet. She discovered
some clues. There had been two other vehicles on the property. One appeared to be a limo and the other a van. This would have
been the one they transported them in.
The limo means either they had money or it had been rented. Further investigation
proved to be useless. No one renting any limos, hadn't returned them.
So its was possible it was owned. And then there
had been several men, about ten in numbers, had come through the front door. Which had been knocked off its hinges. She thought
hard as she sat in her rented room. She decided to leave for the Titan Towers. She felt someone there may be connected. It
was a start.
"I'm not letting anything happen to you, Lauren. Its going to be alright." Taker was trying to calm her,
as she sat trembling in his arms. They had brought them here in a secluded area in the mountains.
They had guessed
filling the effects of the altitude. They had locked them in a cabin. And were very accommodating. It had three bedrooms,
a kitchen and bathroom. There were two men who where in control of their destiny. They never stayed. Not wanting throw any
suspicions to themselves.
Mr. McMahon was trying to console Linda and Stepahine. Triple H and Shane were somewhere
conversing. While X-Pac sat in a corner staring at nothing in particular. Tori stood looking out the window constantly giving
them up to the minute going ons. Road Dogg paced back and forth. As Taker and Kane stood by Lauren.
They made up the
sleeping arrangements with the women in a room and the men splitting up in the remaining two. But Lauren wasn't having it.
She wanted to be with Taker and Kane. They all agreed, seeing being with the brothers were the only thing keeping her together.
So they split up the two remaining rooms with the women in one and the men in the other.
"Why hasn't anyone found
us yet. When I get back I'm going to fire that incompetent Jonesy and 'The Stooges', Brisco and Patterson. They should know
something's up. We were due back three days ago." Vince was venting his frustrations.
Linda went to calm him, seeing
it was beginning to upset some of the others. The last thing they needed was to lose control. Realising this, Vince tried
to convince everyone things would be alright. Taker watched Lauren holding and reassuring her.
When she looked up
at him, with those big brown eyes, he was taken back to a day some months ago. When a pair of different eyes looked at him
with the same expression. And he thought of Sara.
Sara had came to the Titan Towers looking for information on the
whereabouts of her daughter. And no one could tell her anything. But after making a scene. Mr. McMahon's assistant was willing
to see her. Sara met with Jonesy. She felt he seemed a liitle to edgy for her liken. After their question and answer session.
She was satisfied he was the one to follow. So she did.
Jonesy had been Vince's assistant for the last year and always
did what he was told without question. But these recent events had left him with sleepless night. Sara had followed him home
unnoticed. She decided to play the destitute mother. Which wouldn't be hard to do, since she was feeling the strain of her
missing daughter. Now to get into his house. She decided to knock on the door.
"Yes. Who is it?" He asked looking
through the peek hole, curious as who could be coming to see him, since he didn't have many or any friends.
"It's
me. Lauren's mom. Please sir. I need to talk to you." She was really pouring it own. One thing a man like him wouldn't be
able to stand is a woman crying.
"Oh! Yes, please come in." He opened the door beckoning to her.
"Oh-h-h-h!
I'm so sorry to bother you, but I don't know what else to do." She was hamming it up now. And he was hooked. He ran to get
her some water. Offering it, begin to hold her tight, rubbing her arms, and speaking in a soft soothing tone. He told her
everything would be alright soon.
'Alright soon' stayed in her mind. He knew something. Her instincts were usually
right. As he calmed her down. He asked had she eaten, fearing she would drop from exhaustion and lack of nourishment. She
told him she hadn't taken the time to eat, with so much on her mind. He stated he was getting ready to eat when she arrived,
and asked if she would join him.
She excepted, feeling she could get more out of him. As they ate, she found him to
be a very charming man. A little on the wimpy side. Though most women wouldn't give him a second glance. He wasn't hard on
the eyes. He was middle-aged, slender, stood about 5'9" in height. He had salt and pepper hair, which was beginning to recede,
gorgeous soft blue eyes, he hid behind grannie glasses. And definitely, knew how to treat a lady.
Sara was enjoying
dinner with Jonesy, inspite of what she had to do. And hope he didn't have anything to do with her daughters disappearance.
Jonesy offer his home to her if she didn't have anywhere to stay. She thanked him, but told him she had been able to get a
room. Before leaving she asked if she could use his phone. He told her yes, and left the room.
While he was out, she
put a bug on it. She then bid him a goodnight and thanked him for his kindness. She drove down the street, came back and put
one of her devices on his car. If one thing fail the other would surly work. She left quickly. As she sat in her car, not
knowing how long it would take to get what she needed, when her wish came true. His phone ranged.
"Yes?" He answered.
"What's been happening on that end? Is everything going as planned?" The voice asked.
"We need to talk. Not
here. At the designated place. How long will it take you to get there?" Jonesy seemed more nervous than before, with talking
with this man.
"I'm already in town. So how about ten minutes?" The voice answered.
"Fine. See you then."
Jonesy's voice was noticeably shaky. Very smart. He didn't want to talk over the phone. Could he suspect her. 'There's more
to you then meets the eye.' She thought, as she waited for him to come out of the house.
It didn't take long before
they were on their way, as he drove to a field. She watched from a distance, setting up her equipment to hear their conversation,
when a limo drove up. And on the license plate was the unmistaking WWF emblem.
'What the.....' She didn't finish.
Out of the limo stepped a tall heavyset man, with black hair cut short, with a long coat and dark glasses. She thought it
odd to be wearing glasses at night. He looked around to see if no one else was around, satisfied walked over to Jonesy.
"There
was a lady asking about her daughter, Lauren. I think I convinced her we didn't know anything. She's harmless." Jonesy really
needs to get his insights toned. She thought.
"Are you sure she isn't going to be a problem? If so, we can arrange
for her to have an accident." The big man seemed to take pleasure in bullying Jonesy. "No! No! I can handle her. She won't
be a problem." 'My hero' She thought as she watched Jonesy.
"So, when does he want it to go public?"
"There's
been a change of plans. We're not going to do the publicity stunt." The big man said as he looked at Jonesy.
"That
doesn't make since. What could he be thinking?" He cowered before the big man.
"Actually he doesn't know yet. I decided
I want the money." The big man began to look around again. Sara didn't like this, she had a bad feeling.
"What? You
can't do this." He was hysterical.
"Oh but I can, and I did. Goodbye Jonesy. I wish I could say its been fun. But
I can't." The man took out a gun and shot Jonesy several time. Got back in the car and drove off.
Sara wasn't able
to stop to attend to Jonesy for fear she would lose this man. She felt he could lead her to her daughter. She phone in the
information to Jay who had the local police and ambulance at the location in record time.
She hoped Jonesy would make
it. He was a nice man caught up in something that just went wrong. The man never noticed a car following him. Amatuers
she thought. This should prove to be very easy, how easy she didn't know. One thing she had learned, never underestimate.
She followed him as they headed out winding up into the mountains. Coming to a rode, no one would have spotted. She
waited for a while then followed on foot to a spot she saw the limo turn in. She climbed a boulder. And heard voices coming
from the other side.
As she made her way to the top, she looked down and saw about eight men with guns sitting around.
With the heavyset man barking out the orders. To the side she spotted a cabin. She knew this is where they were. She slid
down the boulder, ran to her car and made it to the next town. She picked up some supplies, along with a bike.
Hold
on folks, salvation is on her way'.
Chapter Four
"I need you outside." The heavyset man pointed to Vince, standing in the cabin
door. He followed the man outside, and away from everyone else so they could talk privately.
"What do you want?" Vince
sounded a little irritated.
"I have some bad knews for you. Your assistant, Jonesy. He met with an accident. It seems
someone's gun went off and he got in the way. Sorry." He took a drag from his cigar.
"It wasn't an accident. You shot
him. What do you think I am, a moron? I didn't build this business to let someone like you destroy it." Vince was furious
and could hardly be contained as he stood nose to nose with the man.
"Whoa!!! Are you forgetting who's in charge here?"
The man reminded him.
"No. I haven't forgotten a damn thing. But it appears you have." He was a little more calmer.
"Well, I hate to say this. But there's been a change of plans. " The man took another drag and blew it out.
"What
do you mean. 'A change of plans'?" Vince began to squint his eyes, as he tried to follow this idiot standing before him.
"Well,
I decided to send the ransom note demanding Ten Million dollars." He looked at his cigar very proud of himself.
"Why
you double-crossing S.o.b. I will kill you myself. Do you hear me? Nobody, and I mean nobody crosses the boss." With that,
Vince lounged at the man putting his hands around his neck, before he could react. The men saw this and ran to pull him off.
The heavyset man fell to the ground holding his throat gasping for breath.
"Hey! Come quick! Vince is choking Lou."
Tori said, as she heard what sounded like a stampede coming from behind her, as everyone scrabbled to see what was happening
outside. She had been looking out the window and had witnessed it all. They saw as the men were bringing Vince back to the
cabin.
"He will pay for this. And that's a promise. No one crosses me. NO ONE!!!" Vince said as he started to figure
out how he was going to get out of this mess. He hoped Jonesy was alright.
Sara enquired about Jonesy. His condition
was stable but guarded. Good, she felt better. Note: Another reason to give the heavyset man just what he deserves. Sara had
everything she needed as she made her way back to the cabin area on her bike.
Cautiously, she rode up the pathway.
Hid the bike in some bushes, walked the rest of the way. She climbed the boulder and scanned the site. She needed a diversion.
Suddenly, she heard a car coming. It was the limo.
Out stepped the Lou and another man. Tall slender with shoulder
length blond hair, also wearing dark glasses and a long grey coat. They had Vince brought out, came near the boulder she was
perched on, and begin their converstaion as she listened.
"I understand you have a problem with the change of plans?"
The slender man asked.
"I want you two to listen to me and understand something. Nobody crosses me. NOBODY!!!" Vince
was pissed.
"Yeah. Yeah. Yeah." The slender man said as he covered his mouth with his hand as if yawning. He seemed
a little bored with the conversation. And Vince felt he was, too. He gave this man a slug across the jaw sending him falling
to the ground, holding his jaw. '
He said they were like grapefruits' Sara thought, as she smiled at the incident.
They other men took Vince back to the cabin once again. Lou helped the slender man up.
"I told you he would be a problem.
What are we going to do now?" Lou asked.
"We're going on with the plan. Send the ransom note. And when we get the
money, we'll kill them all. With Vince last, so he can see what a hot- head can get you." He was still rubbiing his jaw.
Sara
just laughed at this remark. They were over there heads, and didn't know it. Normally, she would have went in and taken them
out. But she wanted to have some fun. She knew what she had to do. She went to lay her traps. They will not be leaving on
their own tonight.
After thirty minutes, the limo with Lou and the slender man started down the road, as they came
to a certain spot, they heard a loud noise with the front end of the car sinking down.
"Damn. What's was that?" The
slender man asked, as Lou and him got out of the limo to assess the damage.
"Those were brand new tires." Lou proclaimed.
"Do you have spares?" The slender man asked, as he walked from one side to the other.
"Yea, one. Let's go
get the other car, and come back tomorrow to fix the tires. It's getting late. Dark will be here in a while." Lou started
up the road with the slender man following.
Sara smiled as she began to follow them back to the cabin unnoticed. They
hadn't seen the well placed spikes. They drove the other car down the road telling the men they would be back in the morning
with some spares to fix the limo. As they slowly made their way back down the road.
They never saw, as Sara came up
behind them, holding on to the car. placed a device on the back, rolling off and running back into the woods. The car made
a funny noise and stopped. As they stepped out to see what was wrong. The car burst into flames, sending the two men crawling
to get out of the way.
They took off up the road towards the cabin. Hiding amongest the trees, Sara followed, laughing
to herself. Reaching the boulder she deemed her command post. Watched as the two men ran into the site falling to the ground.
"Hey,Boss! What's going on?" One of the men asked as they ran to the two men running, like the hounds-of-hell were
on their tails.
"I don't know. First the tires blow out on the limo, now the other car went up in a blaze." Lou answered
gasping for breath.
"You would think Vince would have provided us with quality transportation, with all the money
he has." The slender man said, trying to catch his breath. ' What could he mean by that.' She thought. She wasn't liking
where this seemed to be heading. She was almost afraid to think who the one they mention as 'HE' could be.
"Yeah,
but now we have to stay up here for the night. I'm not going to go back down that rode again tonight." Lou stated his position.
"Good. Mission accomplished. Now to wait until dark. Then the party begins." She said under her breath and slid down
off the rock.
Chapter Five
"Hey you guys.
Something weird is going on out there." Tori said, as she looked out the window.
"What are you babbling about?" Vince
snapped.
"No. I mean something is going on out there." She tried to explain.
"Lou and the other guy had left.
And a few minutes later they came walking back without the limo, and took the other car. They drove away, and now they just
came running back like something was after them."
"Let me see." Vince moving her out the way of the window. He saw
the two men sitting on the ground surrounded by the other men. And yes, they do look like they had been running.
"I
wonder what could be going on?" He paused. " I guess I'm about to find out. Because here they come." They took Vince over
towards the boulder, their established meeting spot.
"You could've given us better autos. With all that money you
have." The slender man was in his face.
"You know what? You two are what I call 'Walk-off's'. Now I know you don't
understand what that means. So here goes." Vince began to walk holding his hands out as he does when he's explaining things.
"When the Good Lord got ready to pass out brains. Some of those good folks decided, they didn't need any. So they
got up and just walked off." The slender man became furious with Vince's comment and lounged at him.
Lou held him
and call for some of the other men to take Vince back to the cabin. 'Vince wasn't one to keep his feelings to himself' She
thought. And yet, she felt something wasn't right about this whole situation.
"So what's going on out there?" Linda
asked. While the others looked to Vince.
"It appears they had some car troubles and will be staying up here with us."
Vince with a smirk on his face.
"Well I don't know about the rest of you. But I'm pretty damn tired of being stuck
in here like a prisoner. I think we should make a plan to get out of here. What do you think?" Triple H asked, looking at
Road Dogg and X-Pac.
"Yeah. I'm down with you Triple H." He had Road Dogg's support.
"Count me in, too. I
got your backs." X-Pac walked over to stand by his friends.
"Wait a damn minute. The three of you just hold your horses.
If anyone’s going to make decisions around here it will be me. And my decision is we sit tight until help comes." Vince
approached the trio.
"You know Vince. For the last week we've had to hear your ranting and raving about how someone
is going to pay. While we rot in this place. Well here's your chance, Boss. Are you with us or not?" Now Triple H was getting
angry with Vince.
"Don't get out of line with me, Mister. I made you I can break you. As I said before. No one makes
a move until I say so. And that's MY final word on the subject." Vince smiling that smile when he thinks he has the upper
hand.
The trio looked one to another. Deciding if they were going to stand up to Vince or wait it out with the rest
of them. Vince gave them the 'Okay so, what are you going to do?' look. When someone helped them with their decision.
"McMahon.
I agree with Triple H. I think it's time for us to make a plan." Taker came towards the group.
"The women won't be
able to take much more of this. Frankly, neither will I. And I don't think you want to see me hysterical, now do you?" As
Taker spoke, Kane came and stood at his brother's side. As also Triple H, Road Dogg and X-Pac, forming a united front. Vince
was livid.
"Wait until we get out of here. All of you will see. Taker, you don't fool anyone. It's that wimp of a
girl you hang out with you're so concerned about. Look at her, she's lost her mind. And think, I hired that gutless little
b-b-b...." He never got to finish.
Taker was on him faster then the speed of light. He had Vince up against the wall
holding him by the collar, with his feet dangling off the floor. Everyone was trying to get him to let him go, all except
Kane. With no such luck. Finally, Linda gently touched Taker's arm.
"Undertaker. Listen to me. You know how he let's
his mouth over rule his brain. I agree with you gentlemen. So let's focus on getting out of here and deal with the rest later."
Taker turn his head to her and nodded. He respected her very much. He released his hold on Vince. He fell hard to the floor.
Linda gave him a look, and he knew it was time to keep quiet.
Night came and Sara laying on her stomach, with her
legs crossed at the ankles, watching from the boulder. Her head resting on her hands humming a tone, as the men below sat
around talking. When the opportunity arrived.
One of the men told another he was headed for the outhouse. Sara seized
the moment. She slid down off the boulder, grabbed a bag, ran unnoticed in the direction of the outhouse.
She quietly
approached door, reaching in her pocket pulled out a tube, and ran the substance along the cracks in the door. She slowly
climbed on top of the shack without making a sound. Empty the contents of the bag into an opening. She jumped off the top
and ran to the cabin. Lou and the slender man were making their plans when all hell broke loose.
"Ya-a-a-a-ah!!!
Hel-l-l-l-p!! Somebody, please-e-e-e-e-e!!! Hel-l-l-l-p!!! S-s-s-snakes!!! The man hollering sent them all to his aid. Sara
had sealed the door with some powerful glue and dropped some harmless snakes down the hole.
"What the hell is going
on out there?" Vince hollered as everyone jumped at the noise coming from outside. Suddenly, they heard someone running across
the roof, and then quiet.
"Oh, look you guys! There's a lady running out there." Tori said as she was crushed against
the window.
"Where? Where?" Everyone asked.
"Get off me. You're squeezing me. She's over by the van." As she
pushed them back off her.
Sara made her way to the van, attaching one of her devices to it. Looking around made her
way back to HER command post. Taker got a glimpse of the woman running. He would know her from anyone. It was Sara.
He
knew she was there to help and knew more than ever they needed to get a plan together. Outside he heard the men coming back.
They were laughing at their comrad. He was covered from head to toes with the substance from the outhouse. His jumping around
had tipped it over. They had to pry the door opened. He wasn't in the mood for their jokes. And said he was going to get washed.
Suddenly. BOOMMMM!!! The van exploded. A small shockwave went through the complex. Everyone on the outside fell to
the ground covering themselves for protection.
Taker had remained at the window since seeing Sara. And had seen what
was going on outside, decided it was time for them to make their move. He called to Kane and with their two large boots, kicked
the door down.
Sara seeing the men scattered on the ground, was about to jump down off the boulder, when she heard
this big crash coming from the cabin. She looked and saw the door down.
Out of the opening stepped Taker, Kane, Triple
H, Road Dogg and X-Pac. And boy, they didn't look very happy. Before the men could recover, they were on them. Sara was going
down to help, when she heard a loud noise from over head. A helicopter full of agents.
"Well done, Sara. You did it."
She jumped. It was Jay, he had seen her signal. He was the only person who ever was able to sneak up on her. She was getting
ready to respond when she saw Lou and the slender man running away.
She ran after them with Jay close behind. She
had caught up with Lou when she heard loud noises coming from behind them. She watched as blood shot out from the back of
Lou's head, he fell to the ground dead. She felt this great pain in her back, sending her to the ground. Then she felt someone
fall on top of her. As she drifted off into darkness, she heard Vince's voice, a thud, a grunt and then a thump.
Chapter Six
Sara had
drifted in and out of consciousness for over a week. The bullet had severed a main artery and caused some internal bleeding.
She was in the operating room you for fourteen hours. At first it was touch and go. But they were able to stabilize her.
Finally,
as she was awaking. She felt someone holding her hand. As she focus in on her surroundings, she could see she was in a hospital
room. She slowly began to remember what had happened. She looked at the person next to her holding her hand. She couldn't
mistake him, as he sat in a chair at her bedside. His head lying on his arm, face down.
He was resting it on her bed,
his long auburn hair sprawled over his shoulder. As she stirred, he looked up. And there were those familiar deep green eyes
she loved so much.
Her heart skipped a beat as she saw how puffy and blood shot they were. He raised up in the chair,
squeezing her hand gently, began to smile.
"Taker." Was all she could get out before she felt the sharp pain. He gestured
for her not to try to talk and rang for the nurse. When the nurse came into the room and saw Sara had awoken, she asked Taker
to leave the room while she examined her. But, to no avail.
After checking her dressing and asking her if she was
in pain, the nurse left the room to notify the doctor his patient was awake and to get her something for her pain. Taker sat
at her side holding her hand not wanting to leave. As the doctor and nurse entered the room, he was instructed to leave.
Reluctantly
he left, and therefore took the time to call Lauren and Leslie. Within thirty minutes they were all there. Lauren, Leslie,
Salene and Kane. Sara was glad to see them all. She was curious to where was Jay. She asked leaving them staring at each other.
"Where is Jay?" She asked, feeling something was terribly wrong. Taker holding her hand gave it a slight squeeze.
"Where is Jay?" She asked again, becoming frantic. They became solemn. Taker motion for them to leave, so he could
talk to her.
He told her what she already felt in her heart. Jay had been killed during the time she had been shot.
He didn't want to go into anymore details then that at the moment. But told her, Vince had seen them running after the two
men and followed.
When he saw the man shooting at them, he picked up a stick, came from behind, and hit him across
the head knocking him out. And that's all the details he would tell her. Even when she persisted. He stood his ground explaining,
she needed to take care of herself for her daughters, and Salene. Now that Jay was gone, she would be needing her more than
ever.
Yes, Salene. She must be there for her. It wouldn't be hard. From the first time Jay brought her around, it
was love at first sight. Salene had lost her mother a few years earlier. She was this skinny little girl, with long wavy blond
hair. And she had these light crystal blue eyes.
She had claimed Lauren and Leslie her little sisters, and became
very protective of them even until now. The girls wouldn't noticed the stares they received, when announcing their kinship.
Two little black girls and one little white girl, skipping along as if they didn't have a care in the world.
When
they became older, they really began to have fun with people who had a problem with it. How many times Jay and her had laughed
at the girls antics, while shaking their heads. But they were very proud of their girls, even today. Salene had grown into
this beautiful young woman. Tall, not as thin, but stacked in the right places.
"You're right. Salene is mine. I love
her as much as my own. I can't take Jay's place but I can fill in for him." She said with a lot of effort.
"She loves
you too." It took everything they had to calm her down, when she thought she had lost Sara, as well as Jay.
Actually,
it was Kane who had calmed her. He had stepped in to help Salene through the death of her father and his funeral. While, Taker
tended to Lauren and Leslie. He watched his brother when he first saw her and the look that came over his face. He knew then,
his brother was hooked.
Sara convinced Taker to go home and get some much needed rest or she would have him barred
from her room. He had spent a great deal of time at the hospital. He left unwillingly, but didn't want her to go through with
her threat. While he was gone, she took this time to cry for her dear friend for so many years. Jay.
"Oh Jay. I will
always love and miss you dearly."
The next morning as she sat meditating. Jonesy came into her room to visit. He was
being released, and wanted to come and see how she was doing. He still looked a little weak.
"Hello. I had to come
to see you before I was released. I wanted to apologized for everything that's happened." He held his head down unable to
look her in the eyes.
"Jonesy. You know something. And you may be the most important part of this whole thing. Is
there something you want to tell me?" She asked, watching him as he slowly lifted his head to look at her.
"Yes, Jonesy.
Is there something you want to tell her?" Vince had come into her room you uninvited.
"Uh, no. I was just checking
in on her." Jonesy was very frigid.
"Well, we should let her rest. Anyway I need to talk to you. And Ms Johns. I would
like to talk to you, later. About a job offer. I liked the way you work." With that said, they left. Jonesy gave her a quick
look as he went out the room.
Sara felt Vince was hiding something. What? She didn't want to think about. Because
it could open a BIG can of worms. Jonesy was going to tell her something. Or may be not.
Whatever his job offer was,
she was definitely going to take it. With Jay's death, her time with the organization had come to an end. The only way Jay
would agree to help her become an agent, was on his terms. If anything would happen to him, all her files would be deleted
by a trusted friend located somewhere in the agency.
It would be as if she was never part of the organization. His
final way of keeping his promise to Del. To take care of his family. And he did, even in death. So yes. She would take the
job. And find a way to nail his butt. Finally, Sara was released from the hospital, Taker at her side.
When she
was shot, she had to be air lifted to the next town's hospital. When they had received the news. Lauren, Leslie and Salene
had flown up, staying in a hotel room, until she was out of danger. They only left to attend Jay's funeral, in his hometown.
Don had met up with them at the funeral, and flew back with them to be with Sara. And just before she was ready to
be released, they flew home to prepare for her homecoming.
Only Taker stayed. Vince had offered his Private Jet. Which
she felt odd accepting. But after Taker explained Vince to her, she put it in the back of her head.
Everyone was there
to welcome her home and to show their appreciation to her, for putting her life on the line to help them. They did a toast
to Jay. She thanked them and sat to watch the festivities.
There was a young man there, she had never seen before.
And he seemed to have a lot to say to Lauren. She thought she heard them call him D Lo. What kind of name is D Lo? She thought.
And she noticed Lauren seemed quite smitten with this young man.
She would deal with that later. Because coming her
way, was a problem she needed to deal with at the moment. Taker! Sara had planned to open up to him and let him know how much
she loved him.
But with Jay's death. Memories of her late husband Del, flooded her mind and heart. She shut down all
feelings. So how was she going to tell him there wasn't going to be anything between them? He had been there at the hospital,
through her recovery and seeing her home. How do you tell a man like him they needed to go their separate ways? You can't.
Taker reached her and she beckon for him to follow her onto the balcony for privacy. As they stood there. Neither
could deny the electricity between them. But she tried. Blaming it on the moonlight. The motions were running high. And then
she broke the spell.
"Taker. I want to thank you for being there while I recuperated. You are a true friend to my
daughter. You took good care of her during the ordeal. And, I also want you to know I will never forget it." She was very
nervous and refused to look him in the eyes, for fear she wouldn't be able to pull this off. Taker stood there for a moment
trying to figure where this was leading. He decided to push it along.
"Sara. You know how much I care for Lauren and
your family. So you needn't thank me for anything I did." He walked close to her until their bodies were just, brushing against
each other. And he looked down at her.
Sara knew exactly what he was doing. 'Wooooo! He doesn't play fair.' She thought,
as her body began to tremble with his nearness. He seeing what an affect he was having over her. Took his hand and rubbed
the same cheek he had rubbed once before. 'Still soft, dark and lovely.' He thought. She couldn't help herself, she looked
into his eyes. Deep green whirlpools pulling her in. Then, it was too late to resist. His mouth was already on hers. Automatically
she threw her arms around his neck, holding on for dear life.
He lifted her off the ground holding her close, kissing
her face and neck, and back to claim her mouth. All the while she thought how nice it felt to be in his arms again. She wanted
more. They had never been intimate, and she craved him with all her being. And judging from the way he held and kissed her,
so did he.
Suddenly, he stopped. And turning away from her towards the balcony. He looked over the lighted city. And
let out a long sigh.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. Please except my apology." Without looking at her, walked
away into the room filled with happy people and out the door. No one noticed him leaving. Sara slowly walked to her room.
"Well, if that don't beat it all. He gave me, what I was going to give. Who said, 'Turn about is fair play. Boy. Didn't
he play me.' She thought. She laid in her bed, staring into space until she finally drifted off to sleep.
Salene moved
in with Lauren, while Sara was in the hospital. Which made Sara happy to have her near. The girls had moved in a three bedroom
apartment, in the same building, to accommodate Sara. Leslie and Don were going to have a baby in a month.
So they
had looked at a small country home near Sara and the girls. About thirty minutes outside the city. Sara said she planned to
visit constantly to see her grandchild. Sara thought. 'Boy. I'm getting old. A grandmother.'
Chapter Seven
Finally,
Leslie and Don moved into their little country home. And not a minute to soon. A week later Leslie went into labor. After
Don's call, Sara went rushing out the apartment as Lauren was coming up. Telling her the baby was on the way.
Lauren
dropped everything and followed her mother. When they arrived. Don was out in the waiting room, a wreck. Sara was trying to
calm him down as Lauren went into the labor room with her sister.
"Are you alright?" Lauren asked her sister, as she
noticed she had been sweating and her face was all twisted.
"What in hell do you think? I'm having a baby. No! I'm
not alright." She snapped. Lauren stepped back a little. Her sister had never spoke to her in this way before.
"And
what the hell are you looking at anyway?" She yelled.
"I'm going to get Mom. You have certainly lost your mind. No
wonder Don's in the waiting room having a nervous breakdown." Lauren started out the door, not before she heard Leslie say
something about 'not giving an Rat's something' who she went to get.
She sighed. Too much of listening to her stories
about Stone Cold. Lauren told Sara how crazy Leslie was acting, and how she had hurt her feelings. Don agreed.
The
Mother just laughed in understanding. And went to be with her daughter. Having Mom there made a great difference in the world.
After three more hours of labor. Leslie and Don's son was born. They name him after her father, Del.
That night Taker
left Sara. It had been the hardest decision he had ever made. But made it he did. It was when he was holding her in his arms,
kissing her realized. He wanted more from her than a fling. He wanted something permanent from her.
And he hadn't
felt she was ready to make that kind of commitment, or if she ever would. He didn't want her hurting him anymore. He knew
Erin wanted him, that he could count on. He wasn't willing to lose her to a fantasy.
So he left, before it could go
any farther. And has regretted it every since. No matter how he tried, he couldn't turn off the feelings, especially when
they ran so deep. He knew she had been trying to avoid him, but still they had run into each other. And each time, the sparks
were still there. It just wasn't the same between Erin and him.
Sara had started her job with WWF and had flown in,
to the Titan Towers. Vince had told her he liked her style of work and made her head of security. She felt he just wanted
to keep her close, in case she decided to do further investigating on the 'kidnapping'.
And she liked the job, because
now she could checkout some files without looking suspicious. She had ran into Jonesy a few times. He and her would have lunch
together. Whenever Taker found himself at the Towers, he would always catch a glimpse of her with Jonesy.
He would
ask Vince what was going on with them. Vince pretending to be too busy to care, would shrug it off. But he began to noticed.
Jonesy, without much noticed, was told by Vince he had to go to London to take care of some WWF business, and he will be there
for an extended time. So pack heavy, Vince had told him walking away with that annoying laugh of his.
He went to London,
glad to be away from Vince. But missing Sara. When Jonesy told Sara he was leaving she was furious. She knew what Vince was
up to, and made her more determined to find out what he had to hide. One day she got her break.
Vince was on the road,
and his secretary was out sick. She volunteer to troubleshoot for the day. It was easy, no one else wanted to do it. At the
end of the day.
She decided to stay a little late. And by her being head of security no one questioned it. Looking
through the employee files. She came across information on Lou, Jonesy and the slender man, whose name was Craig. Lou's cousin.
'Why would he kill his cousin? Now I see, he was shooting at me. Lou's death was an accident.' She thought as she
read the files. Suddenly she froze as she felt someone was watching her. She listened, nothing. She hurried and xerox the
information, before putting the files back. She never heard as the door to the office quietly closed.
As Sara walked
to her car, she had this creepy feeling someone was following her. It was a little late and very dark, no one else was around.
So she thought. She went to unlock her car, when she felt that someone was behind her. She was ready to defend herself.
"A
little late to be leaving the office. Don't you think?" Taker asked as she swirled around to looking at him.
"Taker!
I thought you were on the road. What are you doing here?" She said with relief, not wanting him to know how glad she was it
was him and not some psycho.
"I'm hurting. Probably will need some surgery. But I'll be back in a couple of months."
He was glad to see her, but didn't want her to know. The sparks were still there.
"Oh. I'm sorry to hear this. I hope
everything goes well. How is everyone, and especially my grandson?" She was very proud of her grandson and spoiled him. A
LOT!
"Would you like to go somewhere to sit and talk?" He wasn't ready for this to end. And neither was she.
"I
would like that very much." She was going to ask a question when he answered it for her. He beckoned to someone, a limo pulled
up.
"Vince let me use one of his limos to get around since I flew up. Madam?" He held the door as she got in, following
close behind. That made her nervous as she felt him brush her. She couldn't get use to all this luxury.
In many of
her cases she had brushes with the so call jetsetters. But that was undercover, everything was made up. But this was real.
First the Private jet, now this beautiful limo. What a life.
"Would you like something to drink?" He asked interrupting
her thoughts. "Yes. A cola." She didn't want to get caught in the predicament as before. "The night is young and tomorrow
is Saturday. You're off aren't you?" He handed her a Tequila, remembering the last time. She took it only to calm her nerves.
"Oh yes. You were asking about your family. Where should I began. Lauren as you know is on the road with Kane. She's
becoming very cozy with D Lo." He looked to see her reaction at the mentioning of his name.
"What do you think of
him? I haven't had a chance to get to know him." She returned the stare, as she sipped her drink, which was making her feel
fuzzy inside.
"D' Lo is a fine young man. And he loves her very much. I wouldn't stand by and let anyone mess over
her. And remember she's your daughter. She's very smart." He continue to stare at her, taking her in.
"You're right.
Leslie did a good job with Don." She was sipping a little more than she realized. She was looking into his green eyes as he
watched her every move.
"Kane and Salene seem to be heading into a higher level. Like engagement." He stretched his
long legs out and crossed them at the ankles. Leaning back against the seat, feeling very relaxed.
"Really! I think
they would make each other happy. I like Kane. Jay would've like this very much." She became very quiet. Just staring, lost
deep in thought.
Without any warning. She began to cry. Taker took her into his arms holding her tight. He began to
rub her arm. With her head laying on his chest, she remembered his rhythm. With the comforting beat of his heart, his soothing
touch and the tequila. She slowly calmed down and drifted off to sleep.
Later on that night. Sara woke, finding herself
in her room in the bed. At first everything was a little groggy. But it soon cleared, when she felt someone was lying next
to her.
She reached over to feel the length of the figure next to her and pulled her hand back quickly when she realized
who was next to her. She soon calmed when she saw they both had their clothes on.
'Oh well' she thought. And laid
down to go back to sleep. When morning had come, she stretch out her hand to feel where Taker had been. She sat up when she
discovered he was gone. And lying back down, disappointed he had left.
She looked over towards the door when she heard
it being slowly opened. In walked Taker with breakfast, and smiled sheepishly, when he saw she was watching him.
"Oh!
You're woke. I was hoping to go and come while you were still sleeping. I hope you're hungry. I brought some breakfast." He
begin to set up the table.
"I thought you had left." She said trying to sound nonchalant.
"I'm going to take
a shower."
"Oh. Ummm. Here. I used your last towel taking a shower this morning. I got some more from the housekeeper."
He handed her the towels. Their hands brushed against one another.
"Thanks.' Was all she could say, walking into the
bathroom, thinking how a cold shower would do just about now. And to think, while she was sleeping, he was in there taking
a shower. Naked!!
Taker continued to set the table as he watched her enter the bathroom, thinking how nice it would
be to join her. He thought back to last night when he brought her back to her room, after she had fell asleep crying.
He
didn't want to wake her. Using her keys let them in. He laid her on the bed and covered her. And started to leave, but feared
she would wake crying again.
Besides, he wanted to be there when she woke in the morning. He was snapped back to reality
by her coming out of the bathroom, wearing a peach lounging gown. She looked enticing. He thought.
She walked over
to the table as he held her chair for her, and sat across from her. She looked at the table setting. In the midst was a single
red rose in a vase. They sat eating and staring into each others' eyes, like a pair of love struck teenagers.
A conversation
was started as they laughed and talked about family, friends, wrestling, Vince, and small talk. Since Taker had brought the
food she felt it more than right for her to wash the dishes. What few there were.
They sat most of the day talking
and enjoying each others' company. A first for them. She told him about her life. How she had became an agent after the death
of her husband.
He was glad she was able to tell him more about herself than before. And he felt he was understanding
this woman sitting before him a little more. She has had more than her share of pain. He wouldn't add to it.
She then
asked him about himself and how he became a wrestler. She listened attentively, as he told her his story. She thought her
life was interesting. Evening began to creep in. He asked if she would like to go out for dinner. She said yes.
They
went to a nice little restaurant with a bar. As they sat talking and eating. The unexpected happened. Erin! She had seen them
when they came in, and how they were looking at each other.
And after a while of seeing them at the table and the
way they continued to looked at each other, was all she could take. She left the table she was sitting with friends and walked
towards him.
"Taker!" She hollered. Causing his head to snap around to see who had called him. And when he seen Erin
walking towards him. He jumped up to meet her before she reached the table. For fear of what she may do. Boy did she have
fire in her eyes. If Taker had been a little bush and her eyes a blow torch. Swoosh!! Up in smoke.
"Taker! What is
this? You were going out of town to take care of some business. And what do I see? You with one of your 'ring-rats'." Her
voice beginning to get louder so Sara could hear just what she thought of her. Sara lowered her head, not wanting to be noticed.
Erin never saw the rage behind Taker's eyes when she referred Sara to a 'ring-rat'. Before she knew, he had grabbed
her arm and ushered her out the door. Sara watched from her table shaking her head. Remembering when she was the one being
dragged and in front of that look.
Woooo! She thought. 'Better her then me.'
"How dare you embarrass me in
front of my friend. I don't think Lauren will be too happy to hear you refer to her mother as a 'ring-rat'." He continued.
"I
never l lied to you. I was here on business, when I ran into her. She's having a rough time getting over the lost of her close
friend. And she's here all alone missing her family. So I've been keeping her company until I leave tomorrow." Erin was at
a lost for words. It seems she's the constant cause in the problems in their relationship.
But she couldn't get out
of her head how happy in love they seemed when they walked in the restaurant. And the way they laughed as they talked. The
way HE looked at this other woman, and hanging on her every word, never taking his eyes of her. He never had looked at her
in that way.
One question she wanted to ask. But was afraid of the answer. Did he love this woman? Instead she apologized
for the way she acted and asked him to relay it to Sara. She went back to her table.
Taker sat with Sara for a little
while longer and asked her if she was ready to leave. She told him yes. And with one look at Erin, he left. Erin wasn't sure
she would ever see him again.
Chapter Eight
Taker and Sara arrived back to her apartment. He explained to her he had to leave
and hope she understood. Reluctantly, she said goodbye, as he left. She laid on her bed, rubbing the spot he had once lain.
Holding the pillow, smelt his lingering scent.
She began to cry, blaming herself for the pain she felt. If she had
done things a little differently, it would be her he would be with tonight. She knew where Taker was going. She had heard
about Erin, but had never met her until tonight.
Coming face to face with the other woman in his life, made his relationship
with this her, real. Nothing could ease the ache she felt in her chest. She knew if Erin played her cards right. Taker would
be hers forever.
Sleep was her friend tonight. It covered her like a blanket. Taker made a phone call as he headed
for the limo. Swung by the restaurant he had left with Sara. And picked up Erin standing in front. She had been happy he called,
and promise herself she wouldn't do anything else to ruin their relationship.
They went to her room, talked a while,
and then spent the night making love. Erin had played her cards right.
Sara woke, still feeling the affects of the
night before. She couldn't get Taker out of her mind. She didn't want to think of him with Erin, but she did. The pain started
all over again.
What she needed was an distraction. She then remember the files. Spreading them over her bed. She
began to go over them inch by inch searching for any clue. Then she thought of something, it would be a long shot. She may
be able to get some information out of Craig, Lou's cousin. She could fly down and back from the prison before tomorrow.
She made the arrangements for her trip, and left. Moments later, her phone rung. It was Taker wanting to see her before he
left.
"Where could she be so early in the morning?" He wondered. Making his way to her apartment, when he saw her
driving pass in the opposite direction. He told the driver to turn around and follow her. He followed her to the airport and
wondered if she was going home.
He watched as she went into the terminal, picking up her ticket and boarded the plane.
He wondered why would she be going down there. He made a phone call.
Sara disguised herself, she didn't want to spook
Craig. She was pretending to be a reporter, wanting to hear how he felt about being used as the fall guy. When she made it
to the prison, she had to wait a long time.
Finally the Warden came to greet her. He apologized for the inconvenience.
He stated she should have been told over the phone, about the prisoner's condition. It appears when Vince hit him over the
head, he sustained a blood clot. He went into a coma, just two days earlier.
Well, just wasn't that interesting. First
Lou dies, and now Craig's in a coma. She doubted if he would regain consciousness. She knew she couldn't depend on Jonesy
for any information. She went back to her room, left for the airport.
No use sticking around. She made it back home
and was glad to be back. Meanwhile the Warden approached a cell. Looked in at the man lying on the cot. Craig looked up at
the Warden puzzled. The Warden just walked away, making a phone call.
It was late. Sara decided to take a shower and
turn in for the night. As she showered she began to think about Taker. She hadn't thought about Erin and him all day. As she
came out of the shower she froze. She felt someone had been in her room. Nothing had been taken, but definitely someone had
been in there.
She went to check the locks, making sure they were secured. She knew there would be no sleeping tonight.
Someone had indeed come into her room while she was showering. And outside a car sat parked, as someone watched her room.
The next morning found a sluggish Sara coming to work. But she made it, after two cups of coffee. It was business
as usual. She would be glad when this week was over.
She could go home and work from there, and then she would be
traveling in two weeks with the company. She was in the lounge eating her lunch, when Taker walks in. Her sandwich stopped
midway to her mouth as she stared at him.
"Taker! What are you doing here?" She was wondering why he was still here.
"I thought you had left for home."
"I was going, but something was brought to my attention." He seemed a little
tense. "I need to talk to you. At your place, when you get off."
"Sure." She was trying to figure him out, but nothing.
She couldn't wait for work to be over to find out what was eating at him. As she entered her apartment, she jumped
with a start. Sitting on her bed, was Taker. As if it was the most natural thing to do. She wasn't too pleased.
"How
did you get in here?" She said as she walked over to him.
"The manager. He thinks I'm your husband. From the other
night, when I had to carry you in." He seemed to be very pleased with himself at the moment. "I don't want to get into
this with you. Anyway. You have something you need to discuss with me?" He could see she wasn't pleased with him coming into
her room, but what he had to talk to her about was more important.
"Sara. I came to the office on Friday and found
you searching through the files. I know you were looking for information on the kidnapping. And I know you went to the prison
to talk to Craig. Last night I called you from my cellular. And when I didn't get an answer I had the manager to let me in,
and noticed you were in the shower. I left, after seeing you were alright. I'm worried you're going to get hurt. You are not
an agent anymore. Right now the girls need you. Kane and Salene have made it official. Their getting married. Jay is gone.
You are all they have left. And don't forget your grandson. Be there for them Sara." He looked at her hoping he had gotten
through. He and the others will take care of Vince themselves. It's a family thing.
"Promise me Sara. You never break
your promises". Except for one, she thought.
"I promise." She knew he was right. Her days of undercover was over.
"I'll see you back home. I'm going to take a relaxing shower." She went into the bathroom as he watched.
Taker
sat as he heard the shower come on. He had to make a decision tonight. He thought about Erin and how much he loved her. But
then there was Sara, it was so intense between them. Was it love?
He looked to the door leading out her room to Erin.
And then to the door where she was showering. His heart told him one thing, as his head told him something differently. He
made the decision that would dictate the rest of his life. He stood and walked to the door. Giving one last backward glance,
opened the door and walked through it.
Sara walked into the bathroom, undressed thinking about Taker in the next room.
She turned on the water and slid underneath letting it flow over her body. Once again, she thought of him. Wishing he was
in there with her.
Yet, it had been her bad decision to leave that caused her to lose him. Thinking of this, the pain
in her chest came back. She sunk down into the tub crying for her lost love.
How long she had been there crying she
didn't know. Suddenly, she felt the water stop flowing. Quickly, she looked up. Standing there holding a towel, was Taker.
He beckoned for her to come to him. She stepped up out of the tub, as he covered her with the towel and began to dry
her off. He picked her up and taking her to the bed, laid her down. As he slipped out of his clothes, she watched with anticipation.
She looked at him and all his magnificence and longed for him to be next to her. He gave her a look as if to ask,
'Are you sure this is what you want?' As an answer, she raised her arms to him with pleading eyes for him to quench the burning
fires in her.
He moved over her, as the night's shadows covers the earth at sunset, engulfing her body. Feeling his
lips on her neck, and his body touching hers. She let out a scream that came from within the depths of her soul. In response
he covered her mouth with his', kissing her long and hard. She let out a whimper as tears rolled down her face, as she felt
she would not get enough of him.
Hearing this he gave himself to her holding back nothing. And all the desire and
hunger they felt for each other, finally receded. They made love to the morning, drained of every ounce of energy. Laying
in each others arms contented, they slept.
Outside, Erin sat in her car as she watched the room Taker went in. She
had followed him when he left her, sensing something was wrong. Later, she watched as Sara entered the same room. It had been
several hours. It was late. And judging by the time.
He wasn't coming out anytime too soon. She thought everything
would be alright, when he had picked her up from the restaurant. They had talked and made love. The lovemaking had been nothing
he had done with her before. When morning came, the distance between them was greater.
Then she knew, it wasn't her
he was making love to that night, but the dream lady. The one who has ever been in there presence. He wouldn't look at her
much the next morning, and she realized something had changed.
It wasn't anyone’s fault, just wrong timing.
Maybe if she had come along before this woman, and claimed his heart. This wouldn't have happened. But that wasn't the case,
she knew she deserved better. She drove away, hoping Taker had finally found peace with his Phantom lady. He deserved it.
Taker and Sara had put the past behind them. Kane and Salene were married at Leslie and Don's home. Sara walked her
down the aisle in Jay's place. Taker, of course, was the Best Man. Lauren was her Maid of Honor. Leslie was expecting again,
and it was so funny to see her belly sticking out as she walked down the aisle as a bridesmaid.
Lauren and D Lo were
engaged, but weren't talking about marriage at this moment. Wanting to get their careers up and running before they settled
down. During the reception. Taker pulled Sara out the house, taking her to a quiet secluded spot.
"I've been wanting
to do something for a very long, long time." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black case. As he went down
on one knee, holding her hand.
"Will you become my wife?" As he opened the case taking a beautiful gold ring with
a sapphire setting, out. Sara looked at him, then at the ring, and then back at him.
All she could do, while tears
streamed down her cheeks, was to nod her head over and over. He put the ring on her finger as she admired it. She then ran
into his arms hugging him tightly.
"You feel so right. I love you so much. I would be more than happy to share the
rest of my life with you." They began to kiss each other lovingly. And before things could get out of hand.
They went
back into the house, with secretive grins on their faces. They had decided to wait until Kane and Salene came back from their
honeymoon, before telling of their engagement. After Kane and Salene came home. Taker and Sara announced their engagement.
Everyone congratulated them, and proceeded to plan their wedding. Taker and Sara watched as everyone had ideas on
the wedding. While no one was looking. Taker gave Sara a look, and nodded his head towards the door. She understood.
While
they were going on and on. They slipped out of the apartment, into the car and headed to Las Vegas. They eloped, not wanting
a big fuss. That night as he watched his bride sleep.
He thought. 'So, my Dark beauty. Finally. In the end, I did get
the girl.' And with that said he held her close, glad that his dreams had become reality.
