Prologue
“Lita will you marry me?“ Matt asked, kneeling
down on one knee in the middle of the ring. The fans cheered with glee, then became quiet, listening in anticipation for her
response. The tears flowed down her cheeks as she could hardly contain this moment.
“Yes! Yes!” She stuttered, barely able to utter
that most important word. Matt jumped to his feet, gathering her up in his arms and twirling her around above his head. She
wrapped her arms around his neck, throwing back her head, laughing from the depths of her soul.
“Leee-ta! Leee-ta!” The voice boomed from the
Titan Tron, as the lights grew dim. A hush came over the arena, as all eyes came to focus on the face that filled the huge
screen.
Matt and Lita stood frozen in the middle of the ring, staring
up at the monster who dared to interrupt their celebration. The same monster who had stalked her for many weeks and tried
to destroy Matt, only if she would do something for him. She did what it took to save Matt. She thought it was finished, even
though he had informed her it wasn’t. Matt gently sat Lita on her feet and made his way to the ropes to challenge the
Red Demon.
“Matt! The baby that Lita is carrying. It’s Mines!”
He spewed out of his mouth, laughing that hideous laugh. Matt shook his head, yelling out profanities. The crowds response
rumbled throughout the arena.
“Yes it is, Matt! Hey, if you don’t believe me,
ask Lee-ta!” He stared at Matt. Matt slowly turned to look at Lita. The expression on her face told him everything.
Feeling betrayed, he walked back into the ropes and quickly left the ring. Running up the ramp and into the backstage. He
continued through heading for the garage area.
“Matt! Matt!” He could hear her coming up behind
him. He didn’t want anything to do with her. She lied to him and made him think he was going to be a father. When along
it was Kane’s baby. How could she do this to him. He thought she loved him.
“Matt wait! Listen to me!” She ran passed and
in front of him. He stopped short and turned away from her.
“The baby may still be yours!” She told him. He
ran his hand over his head. Then turned on her.
“How Lita? How could you do this? How could you sleep
with that.....! I can‘t even think about, it let alone say it!” He snapped at her. She tried to work through the
sobs.
How Matt? For you! I did it to protect you!” She cried,
pleading for him to understand how much she loved him. He stared at the ground for a long time, then to her.
“No Lita! You should have had a little more faith in
me. I have to go! I can‘t deal with this right now! Please don‘t follow me!” He said and pushed passed her
and headed for his car. She heard it turn on then speed out of the garage. She stood there crying and watching him leave from
out of her life.
“Undertaker! My Undertaker will save me!” Paul
Bearer called out, smiling with glee. He stood encased in a glass coffin, waiting for the outcome of a handicap match between
the Dudley brothers and the Undertaker.
Paul Heyman had threaten to pour cement into the encasement
if Undertaker didn’t do the right thing. Which everyone gather was to allow the Dudley brothers to beat him in the middle
of the ring. He chose to not to do that and now is making his way to Paul Bearer.
He made his way slowly and steady towards his long time friend
and confidante. Paul Heyman seeing his plans were quickly spinning out of his hand, may a dash for the cement truck. He reached
up to pull the lever down. A lightening bolt came out of nowhere, striking the lever and sending Paul Heyman flying backwards.
Dazed and feeling his body wreaking with pain, Paul Heyman
watched helplessly as Undertaker began walking towards Paul Bearer once again. Undertaker stared at Paul Bearer for a long
time. Paul returned the gaze. He was going to finally be free.
Undertaker without warning moved towards the cement truck,
staring at it and the lever. Paul Bearer looked at him puzzled, wondering why he wasn’t coming to get him out of the
glass deathtrap. His question was answered.
“Paul!” He said, looking at the one man who has
ever been his conscious. But without the power of the Urn, that was now gone.
“I have no choice, Paul! Rest In Peace!” He looked
over his shoulder at his friend and reached up grasping the lever.
Paul let out a long screech, as reality sunk in. The hand
pulled down the lever and the cement came pouring down on Paul Bearer. His terrifying screams filled the arena, as the fans
stood in shock.
Undertaker walked over to the glass tomb, placed his hand
on it. Then turned and walked up the ramp without a backwards glance.
Chapter One
Lita was rushed out of the arena and into the ambulance after
moments before being hurt in the ring. A jobber, Gene Snitksy, had challenged Kane. Lita had come into the ring to stop Kane,
her now husband from doing any damage. As they stood arguing, Gene took the opportunity to hit Kane from behind with the chair
Lita had taken from him. Causing him to fall on Lita.
Now she laid there, helpless and in pain. Kane continued to
reassure her the baby will be alright. He held her hand. She didn’t protest, she hadn’t the strength. Right now
her thoughts were with her child.
Suddenly a sharp pain shot though her. She yelled out in agony.
Kane leaned over her, trying to aide the best he knew, then ran for help. The doctor and nurses entered the room and prevented
Kane access.
Hors passed, as Kane paced back and forth waiting out the
news of the baby’s fate. Three hours later, Kane watched as the Doctor walked down the corridors towards him. Nothing
had to be said. The expression the Doctor wore on his face was enough. Kane bolted pass him, without one word.
He ran into the room and saw the far away look on Lita’s
face, summoning up the reality of it all. She had drifted off into a place, where she would not have to deal with the pain
of her lost. Kane yelled out, as passersby outside stopped short, startled. he had loss his baby, would his wife be next?
Three months later.................
“Kane! I’m going to the gym to get some workout
in before we have to leave for the road.” She yelled up the stairs. Kane walked out of their bedroom and leaned over
the banister.
“Okay! Don’t get too involved and forget what
time it is. You know how Vince is about punctuality.” He informed his wife.
“Yeah, yeah! I know! I’ll be back in time.”
She said and smiled up at her husband, then rushed out the door. He listen as the car door opened and closed, then the engine
turning on and faded off.
It had been an uphill journey. At first he thought he had
loss her and baby. But a lot of tender loving care and convincing her how much he had fallen in love with her, had brought
her back from the other side. They elected to give their marriage a chance. Something neither has regretted. Maybe one day
they will try once again to have a child. But right now, between getting to know each other and their jobs, it just wasn‘t
in the cards.
Kane went back into the room and sat on the bed, putting on
his socks and boots. Startled when the phone rung. He leaned over towards the nightstand and pulled the receiver up and brought
it to his ear.
“Yeah!” He said in his gruffy voice. First their
was silence then breathing. Kane held the phone there for a moment longer, then took it from his ear and slammed it down in
its cradle.
“Damn perverts!” He said and latched his boots.
The phone rung one more time. He picked it up once again and gave his salutation. The silence followed by heavy breathing.
Kane slammed the phone down once again. Only to have it ring again.
“Listen you asshole! Call me damn house again and I’ll
hunt you down like the piece of sh@t that you are and rearrange your face myself!” Kane yelled into the phone.
“Kane!” The voice came from the other side. Hearing
who it was, Kane felt a little ashamed.
“Hi Linda!” He said, embarrassed.
“I take it either you had a undesirable phone call or
you’re psyche and knew I was calling.“ She said jestingly.
“Sorry Linda! It wasn’t aimed at you. Those crazed
days of mine are over. Life is going well with me. I have a beautiful wife who loves me. I’m not going to do anything
to jeopardize that.” He told her. Which was true. Every since Lita told him she wanted to stay married, he has had a
change of heart. He was no longer the vicious animal he had become.
“That reminds me of the reason I called. Lita has been
away form the last three months since that day. Do you think she is up to coming back?” She asked. Kane didn’t
hesitate to answer.
“Very much so. She has a grudge to settle with Trish.
All that crap she did to her while she was pregnant. You may be looking at your next Women’s Champion.” Knae informed
Linda.
“Good! I think it’s time she took her place at
the top of the Women’s Division. She is sorely needed. Well, thanks Kane. I’m glad everything is coming along.
See you tomorrow night at the show.” She said and hung up. Kane slowly eased the phone down, his thoughts lied on Lita.
She hadn’t been in an arena since that night. How would it effect her?
Lita pounded the punching bag with her fist and kicked it
with her feet. She was agonizing the fact she would be going back on the road. And the part Kane didn’t know. Without
her Doctor’s support. He felt she should give it more time.
She was going crazy, sitting around the house and staring
at the four walls or walking their acres of land. It’s only so much you can do. She needed to get back in the ring.
And after seeing week after week of Trish’s face and all she was doing on TV. She needed to get to that little bottle
bleach blonde real bad.
She had called Vince and told him she had a release from her
doctor to go back to work. It took some doing. But after she signed an agreement she elected to go back to work against her
his advice. The Doctor gave her the release papers.
The first thing she asked of Vince is to make a surprise return
and take on Trish. He didn’t answer her at first, as he threw the idea around in his head. Yeah, that would be a great
idea. This would be what the Women’s Division needed to get them going. He told her it was on and set up a return day.
She relaxed from her hits and kicks to the punching bag. She
looked down at her watched and saw the time. She turned and ran into the locker area, opening the locker she was using, She
then took out her duffle bag and swung it over her shoulder. A envelope fell out of her locker.
She bent down and picked it up, examining the wording on the
face of it. It read: Lita Jacobs. She looked around the locker room, searching for anyone suspicious. Everyone was either
dressing or taking a shower. Others were just standing around talking about the diets they were eon and their exercise regimen.
She glanced down at the letter again and stuck it in her pocket.
She had to get home, shower and hit the road in an hour. She would read it later, when time was available. She rushed out
of the building and jumped into her vehicle. Kane is going to throw a hissy fit. She laughed, as she sped out of the parking
lot.
Chapter Two
Lita paced back and forth in Kane and her dressing room. It
had been a well kept secret of her return. Kane sat on the bench staring at his nervous wife. A knock at the door to let him
know it was time for his match. He stood to his feet and went over to Lita.
“You gonna be alright?” He asked, stepping in
front of her. She stopped just short of him and looked up to him.
“Yeah! I’ll be just fine. Now go out there and
kick ass!” She told him. He hooked her chin with one finger and tilted her head back. She pressed her body into his
own. He leaned in and captured her lips with his mouth. She moaned. He released her and moved away, gazing into her eyes.
“Later!” He said, turned and left her standing
wanting more of him. She smiled and walked over to the monitor to see his match. He was facing Gene Snitsky. He hadn’t
had the chance to settle the score, since he was out with her.
She was watching Kane demolished the little idiot who caused
all this problems. He had been spurting out while they were away how he had did his job. But no one was quite sure what he
meant, since he was very vague or reluctant to give more information.
“For months I have heard you blab your mouth about you
did your job! Well, tonight you’re going to tell me willingly or I’m going to beat it out of you!” Kane
held Gene by the throat. Gene was terrified, that Kane could see. But what he wasn’t sure of, was it him or someone
else that he feared.
“No! Please! I can’t! I can’t!” Gene
pleaded. Kane stared at him for a moment then began to pound him, the man stumbled around the ring, trying to escape. But
Kane wouldn’t allow him. Then he grabbed him by the throat again.
“Now do you understand!” Kane asked him. He was
a bloody mess. He nodded his head.
“Okay! Okay! But not here! I’ll tell you in private.
This is for your ears only.” He told Kane. Kane, stared long and hard at him. The tossed him backwards, sending him
into the far ropes with great impact.
“You better be true to your words. Because if not. I’ll
make what I did to you tonight look like a picnic.” Kane raised his arms in the air, closing his eyes, leaned backwards
and brought his arms down. Causing the ring posts to ignite his fire and rolling backwards over the top rope, he exited the
arena. Gene laid in the ring, trying to gather himself. This was not part of the deal, he thought.
“Do you really think he will tell you what you want?”
Lita asked as Kane entered their dressing room. Kane sat down on the bench and began to take off his shoes. Lita kneeled down
in front of him an assisted him.
“I don’t know baby! It would bring some closure
if I knew why he did what he did. It wasn’t an accident. He basically said that for the last few months. ” Kane
looked at her as he pulled off one boot.
“So you think someone hired him?” She asked, pulling
off the other boot. He nodded.
“I’m afraid so baby! He knocked me into you deliberately.
I didn’t have the heart to tell you that until I felt you were ready.” He rose to his feet and stared down at
her.
“Thank you for being so considerate. Yeah, I can deal
with it. I just hope he comes through.” She said and turned towards the door, hearing the knock. She looked back at
Kane and took a deep breath.
“It’s time!” She said as they announced
it was time for her match. Kane ran his hand down her arm.
“Go get her for all her trash talking when you couldn’t
do anything.” Kane told her. She smiled and rested her hand on his chest near his heart, then moved it to her heart.
She then turned and left to go do some damaged. Kane pulled off his ring attire, what little was left and made his way into
the shower. He never heard his cell phone ringing.
“Nidia! You have been a thorn in my flesh for the last
few months. Always sticking your nose where it don’t belong. Tonight I challenge you to a match. So get your butt out
here!” She said with arrogance, as she pranced around the ring. Next thing music sounded, as a face to the music came
up on the Titantron. The arena went wild, at the same time Trish stood in the ring dumbfounded.
Out came Lita! She stood at the top of the ramp, doing her
signature thing as she always did. The fans stood to their feet cheering her. This was a pleasant surprise. She waved to the
fans and felt a great appreciation for the reception of her return.
Her eyes then went to the object of why she was out there.
Trish! She made her way down the ramp with great determination. Trish backed up, shaking her head and saying something inaudible.
Lita slid into the ring and stared Trish down for a few seconds, then went to one corner and stood, acknowledging the fans
there.
Then she walked passed Trish and stared her down, then went
to another corner doing the same. Trish couldn’t believe this. No one had told her Lita would be returning so soon.
Her mind began to churn as she watched Lita descend the lat corner. She stood there, glaring at Trish. She gestured for a
mic. Lillian Garcia ran over other and handing her the mic, said something to her smiling. Lita nodded to her in response.
Lita walked about the ring like a lioness stalking her prey.
Trish looked around the ring, planning her escape. She didn’t want to face this person in front of her. She had changed.
She wasn’t that sweet Lita anymore. She seemed more intense. Almost female Kane.
“Trish! I told you to keep on and wait until I have
my baby. Remember?” Lita said, calmly. Trish nodded her head in quick movements, leaning against the ropes.
“Well, though I hadn’t planned it this way. I’m
no longer pregnant. So you know what that means?” She asked. Trish straighten up and shrugged her shoulders looking
into the audience. Lita held the mic at her side and continued to glare at Trish. She was enjoying the taunting of her. Slowly
she brought the mic to her mouth and eyes dark with rage, stared at Trish.
“It means its time for me to keep my promise.”
Lita said and dropped the mic instantly running over to Trish. Before she could respond, Lita had plowed into her sending
her backwards and down to the mat. Lita sat on her pounding her face with her fist.
Gail Kim and Molly came to her defense, pulling Lita off her
and began to kick her. Vince didn’t tell her it would be a run in. Victoria and Nidia came to the rescue. All six women
gave the fans a treat, as they pounded each other relentlessly.
Lita and Trish spilled over and out the ring, up the ramp
while the other four continued the fight in ring. Some referees ran pass them to the ring as they fought into the backstage.
Four officials broke them up.
Eric Bishoff came through the curtains and announced, next
week it will be a six woman tag team match. The fans were in an uproar. Lita snatched away from the referee and stared down
Trish.
“It ain’t over Trish! Not by a long shot!”
She warned, walking away from a bruised and bewildered Trish.
Chapter Three
Lita stormed into the dressing room occupied by Kane and herself.
Kane was already dressed in his street clothes. He had seen the ending of the altercation on the monitor and was waiting for
her as she came through the door.
“Ooooo! That b@tch! I can’t stand her skanky ass!”
Lita snatched off her wrist bands and tossed them across the room and against the wall. Kane sat on the bench with his arms
across his chest.
“Tell us how you really feel about her, Lita!”
He injected, smiling. He loved her red-headed temper tantrums. She turned and glared at him.
“Not now Kane! I’m not in the mood. I’m
genuinely pissed off hear!” She yelled at him. Kane uncrossed his arms and rose to his feet, going over to his wife.
She turned away from him and he could see her body trembling all over.
“Hey! Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea for you
to come back so soon. You’re so upset over something so little.” Kane rested his hand on either side of her shoulders.
She closed her eyes and felt the tears pour out an down her cheeks.
“I’m sorry Kane. You’re right.” She
said, turned around into his arms and pressed her body into his. Kane wrapped his arms about her and held her as she cried.
“There, there baby. It’s going to be okay. Go
home and think about it. You have a whole week before RAW next week to decide.” He stroked her hair. She pulled back
from him and stared into his eyes.
“What are you saying? I mean you’re right about
me getting upset over that little twit. Not about my decision to come back! I’m back and I’m ready!” Her
eyes were like dark lines, her mouth barely apart. Her jaw set. Kane could see she was getting irked with him for not supporting
her.
“Okay! Just thinking about you. Remember I’m on
your side. You’re my wife!” He pointed from him to her. She raised her hands to her hips.
“Yeah! I’m your wife Kane! But never forget how
that happened.” She snapped and turned away from him. Kane could feel his heart wrench. He looked about the room searching
for something to focus on. Not finding it, walked over to the door. He needed out of there.
“No Lita! I will never forget how it came about. And
I won’t regret it either! That’s how much I love you!” He turned to stare into her eyes, wanting her to
see what he held in his heart. She gasped!
He opened the door and stalked out, slamming the door behind
him. She stood there for a moment. Not believing how cruel she was to this man, who has done nothing but showed her love.
She darted for the door and swung it open, running into the
hallway, searching for his presence. He was no where to be found. She caught someone walking by the dressing room and asked
if they had seen him. They said the last they saw he was heading for the garage.
She thanked them and ran in that direction. She was just coming
through the doors, when she heard a car screeching and saw her husband peel out of the garage. She tried to wave him down,
but it was as if he ignored her.
‘Just what I deserve.’ She thought and headed
back to their dressing room to shower and go home.
She walked into the dressing room and closed the door behind
her, as she leaned against it and began to cry. Kane was right. She shouldn’t have come back so soon. But she was going
crazy in that house doing nothing. And besides, she had a score to settle.
She walked over to her duffle bag and pulled out her cell
phone. She was going to call him before he did something stupid. Even though he was a changed Kane. He still harbored that
dark side. He just kept it at bay.
She pulled it open and went to dial his cell number, when
she discovered she had a message. Kane, she thought and quickly dialed the number to see what he had sent. But was confused
when she heard another’s voice and what they had to say.
“Hello Mrs. Jacobs! It’s very important you read
that letter. It has some vital information. Sorry I have to go now.” They said and hung up.
Lita pulled the phone from her ear and stared into it for
a long time. Then she snapped it closed and searched through her bag, coming to the letter. She pulled it out and started
to open it, when a knock came at her door.
“Yes, who is it?” She asked. Not expecting anyone.
“Matt, Lita!” The voice came from the other side.
Lita felt her heart skip.
Matt! It had been such a painful time and Kane had been so
comforting. She had forgot about him and their unfinished business with Matt!
Her mid drifted back to the day of her wedding. The last time
she had saw him actually. He had come down and took Kane out. He grabbed her hand and they ran out of the ring and up the
ramp, to freedom.
He was going to spear her away from the monster who had tore
their lives apart. But Kane’s dark powers were too much for them. He sat up and sent a ring of fire in front of them,
blocking their escape. Kane came down and demolished Matt, sending off the platform to the tables below. He was taking away
in the ambulance. Her marriage to came went on as planned.
“Lita!” The voice called to her. She put the letter
back inside her bag and went to answer the door. She slowly opened the door, her heart racing and breathing deep and long.
There they stood, face to face for the first time in nearly four months. Would the feelings still be there?
They gazed into each others eyes, searching for remnants of
the feelings they held so dear for each other. Finding hers, she flew into his arms and wrapped her arms around his neck.
He reciprocated. She released him, grabbing his hand and pulled him in the dressing room.
Chapter Four
Trish came from around the corner, observing everything that
went on. it might be a good time to find Kane and console him. She never thought Lita would be able to stay away from Matt
long, once she came back. She turned and headed out to seek out Kane. She felt she knew where to find him.
Kane sat at a table in a dark corner. He was throwing down
some good ole Tequila. He was on his third shot when his cell phone began to vibrate. He ignored it the first time, then answered
it the third.
“Yeah!” He snapped. Total silence and heavy breathing
from the other side.
“I see! It’s not enough you play these games on
my home phone, but now you’re stalking me on my cell phone? You have no idea who you are messing with!” He growled
and snapped the phone closed.
He slammed the phone down on the table and took another shot.
Every since that night with Lita, he had fell in love with her. But at the time he didn’t know how to tell her. And
he felt she wouldn’t believe him anyway. Which after what she said, he was right.
But he thought, after all the love he poured over her, when
they lost their baby, she would know. He guessed he was wrong. There’s nothing he can do to change the fact he actually
raped the poor girl. Then took away from her everything she held dear by getting her pregnant and forcing her in a loveless
marriage.
Then their baby died. And out of all that, they had something
mutual. He didn’t think it was possible, but it happened. They found strength in each other and the love he held for
her, touched her heart and came back to him.
Until tonight! he could see the hate in her eyes she use to
hold for him. He took another shot. Damn! Why doesn’t it dull the pain? He rested his arms on the table and laid his
head on his arms.
The cell phone sent the vibration up his arms. His head shot
up and hand grabbed the phone. He started to sent some choice words through it, but remember what had happened earlier with
Linda.
“What?” He yelled into it, looking up to see Trish
coming towards his table.
“I’m sorry Mr. Jacobs. The connection was very
bad. You couldn’t hear me.” They started. Kane, wondered who was this person calling him Mr. Jacobs.
“Okay?” He said, as Trish took the chair opposite
him.
“Mr. Jacobs. I have to talk fast as I must go!”
They informed him. Trish gave him a sexy look and turned, searching for a waitress. Kane tilted his head to the side. If what
was coming though his ear wasn‘t more important he would have dealt with her swiftly.
“Gone on!” He told the voice. She finally waved
a waitress down and ordered.
“Your wife has a letter I gave to her earlier today
at the gym.” He began. Kane tensed up. This person was stalking his wife.
“What was that you said about my wife? Listen! You stay
away from her!” Kane’s boomed. Trish straighten up and cocked her ear. Kane saw this, rose from the table and
walked outside, for some privacy. Trish turned in her seat and followed him with her eyes, then smiled. Right on cue.
“No, no Mr. Jacobs! I mean neither of you any harm.
Only want to help! I got to go now. I mustn’t get caught! READ the letter! Please!” The other end clicked, before
Kane could say another word.
He stood there bewildered. A letter he said. Lita never told
him about a letter. He wasn’t surprised. Everything she had said to him for the last three months was a total lie. She
hated him!
He walked up and down in front of the bar, thinking. She was
just waiting out the time she would get back to work and then diss him. But she was convincing. Every stare. Every touched.
She was good. Had him completely fooled.
Oh well! His mind went back to the conversation with the mystery
person. He wondered what did this letter have in it, that was so important? The person said something that would help Lita
and him.
“I’m sorry you had to hear about Lita and Matt!”
Trish’s voice brought him out of his thoughts. Kane swirled around on her.
“What the hell or you talking about?” Kane growled
at her. Trish made a few steps back and stared confused.
“Wasn’t that a called telling you Matt and Lita
were seen going at it in your dressing room?” She asked. Kane tilted his head from one side to the other.
“You are more pathetic than I thought. No it wasn’t!
And for your information. Lita wouldn’t do that!” He walked closer to her. She moved backwards, halted by the
wall.
“Then you don’t no her very well. I saw them go
into your dressing room together. If you don’t believe me! Go see for yourself.” Trish told him. Kane lifted one
arm up to the wall, next to her head. His face down to look in her eyes.
“I just might do that! And if I don’t see anything
as what you painted for me. I’ll be showing something you never seen before. They don’t call me the Big Red Monster
for nothing.” He said, turned and walked to his car.
She watched him get in and pull out of the parking lot, giving
her one last glare. She took in a breath. She didn’t know if to take that as an threat or promise. At that moment she
turned to go in the bar when she saw Matt pull up.
“Get in!” He yelled to her. She looked up and
down the street, then jumped in the car.
“What are you doing here? Kane is on his way to find
Lita and you getting it on!” She told him. Matt drove away from the bar.
“Damn Trish!” He finally came to a place and parked.
Trish looked at him confused.
“What is it?” She asked. Matt rested his head
on the steering wheel, gathering himself. Then he raised his head and leaned his head back onto the headrest. He stared straight
ahead.
“I went to her room as planned. We stared into each
others eyes when she opened the door. She jumped into my arms and led me into the dressing room. I knew we would make up for
lost times.” He relayed the events to Trish. She was very anxious.
“Yeah, yeah. I know all that. I was watching remember?”
She informed him. He looked over to her and knew why he couldn’t stand her.
“To you this was a way to hurt her. Every since you
heard they were happy together. But for me it was a way to get her back. It failed. We failed. They’re in blissful love!”
He let out a deep breath. Trish stared at him silently for some time. Then turned in her seat, staring out the window.
“She told you this?” She asked. He looked over
to her.
“Yes! I tried to kiss her and she turned away. She told
me seeing me was the best thing for her. It was the last proof she needed. What we had was nothing compare to what she has
found with Kane. It’s over between us.” He said and started the car up.
“You’re going to let her go just like that? Kane
didn’t!” She turned to him. Matt shook his head.
“I guess that’s why he has her and I don’t.
Don’t forget. I hurt her in the past. Kane has done nothing, but bring her to him. He didn’t push her away as
I did. As she said. At the end of the day, she knew Kane was going to be there. She couldn’t say the same for me. Drop
it! Time to move on.” He said, accepting the outcome. Trish pouted. She wasn’t ready to give up so easy.
Chapter Five
Kane rushed through the hallways of the arena, towards his
dressing room. If what Trish said was true. He had no idea what he would do. No he knew exactly what he would do. He came
upon his door and touched the knob to open it. It was locked. He knocked on it very hard. Soon he could hear her voice from
inside, calling out for who was it.
“It’s me!” He announced, wondering how she
was going to react.
Before he knew the door swung opened and she was in his arms
like a light. Her mouth found his and ravished them. Kane was set back, as he wrapped his arms around her and moved into the
dressing room, fallen into the door, as it closed. Lita’s arms and legs wrapped around him.
She had taken a shower and only had a towel pulled around
her naked body. Her wet hair was still dripping and on him. He walked her over to the couch and laid her down on it, with
him on top. Right now it was evident she wanted him. And he knew for sure he wanted. No, needed to feel her around him, clamping
down and milking him for everything he had in him.
She began to pull his t-shirt out of his pants and up over
his head. The towel had fallen opened, revealing her beautiful bare formed. Kane felt himself hardened. Her hands went to
his pants and unbuttoned them, then unzipped the zipper. He was free!
She eased the pants down his legs. Quickly sat down and pulled
off his boots and socks, then pulled the pants the off. He stood and moved over his wife. capturing her lips. She wrapped
her legs around his naked body, feeling him hard and ready, touching her.
His lips traveled from her lips to her firmed breast, taking
each nipple in his mouth. Then seeing them nice and tender, moved further down, to her belly button. His tongued drove her
wild as it gave it some attention. He looked up and gazed into her dark passion filled eyes. She reached up and held his face
between her hands.
“Kane please.” She said, heart racing and breathing
quick and shallow.
She didn’t have to ask twice. He lowered himself and
enter her softly, filling her with his engorged member. She arched her back, letting out a small yelp. He groaned deeply,
moving in and out of her. They went on to further consummate, their renewed love for each other.
Kane was in the shower, while Lita finished dressing. She
was closing her duffle bag when she looked at the letter inside. She sat down with it in her hand and looked over once again.
She wondered what was so important about this letter.
“Is that the letter you got this morning?” Kane
came out of the shower drying himself off. Lita’s head snapped up in his direction and out of her trance.
“Yeah. How did you know?” She asked. Kane moved
into the room and tossed the towel on the bench and grabbed his pants. Lita felt herself desiring more him at that moment.
But Kane brought her attention back to the problem at hand.
“I got these phone calls while you were at the gym.
I thought they were obscene calls. But tonight I got another call and the person explained why I didn’t hear them the
first few times.” Kane at down and pull his socks over his feet and up his legs. Lita listen thoughtfully, playing with
the letter.
“Hmmm! They called me tonight too. Said it was very
important and had some vital information.” She revealed to Kane. He stood to his feet and pulled his t-shirt over his
head. Lita was staring at the letter, as he straighten out his shirt and tucked it into his pants.
“Maybe we should read it.” He said to her coming
to sit next to her. She looked at him and handed it to him.
“You do the pleasure. I’m not sure if I can take
any bad news.” She told him. He took it and began to rip the top off, making sure the paper inside was safe. He pulled
it out and unfolding it, began to read. His face changed three different colors. Lita stared at him bewildered. It had to
be bad to have such an effect on him.
“What is it Kane?” She asked not able to endure
the suspense any longer. Kane rose to his feet and let the letter fall to the floor, as he walked away from the couch. Lita
stood to her feet looking at her husband, then looked down at the letter. She bent down and picked it up and read what her
husband had read.
‘I was on duty the night you came in with threatening
to miscarriage. Your husband was sent out for a reason. The Doctor and Nurses that attended you were a rogue staff. Paid as
the guy who made your husband fall on you. It was all a plan. A plan to steal your unborn child. Who is alive and well. I
will be getting in touch with you shortly. I can’t stay in one place for a length of time, as my life is in danger.’
Lita felt the emotions of three long months swell up in her.
She let it up with all that she could. Kane snapped up of his thoughts and came over to Lita, gathering her into his arms.
He gently stroked her back, whispering words of assurance.
“Don’t worry baby. I’ll find out who it
is that is playing this cruel joke on us. And when I do. They’ll wished their mother had miscarried them.” Kane’s
voice vibrated in his chest, sending currency through her own.
“Kane?” She said, pressing her body into her husband’s.
“Yeah?” He asked, still holding her close.
“What if it isn’t a joke? What if it’s true?”
She said. Silence encompassed them.
Chapter Six
Kane and Lita held each other close and stood silent for a
long time. They had gotten some very shocking news. Their baby could still be alive. They weren‘t sure if this was someone
trying to help them or just a cruel joke.
Giving the gestation period, it was impossible for the baby
to had survived the birth. But then too the Doctors and Nurses ushered him out quickly and wouldn‘t allow him in.
No, it wasn‘t possible. But why would this person tell
them this? Didn‘t they know he wouldn’t stop until he got to the bottom of it?
“Listen baby! I’m taking you home and take a flight
out tomorrow to the fly to the next show. I’m going to hire security guards around the clock. I don‘t know if
this is some psycho fan or what.” He said, pulling back from her and staring into her eyes. She nodded.
“Okay! It’s been a long exhausting day. I guess
it’ll take some time to get use it.” She said, feeling drained. She walked away for a distance, turned and stare
at him. Kane gazed upon her. He knew something was troubling her.
“I’ll take care of it. And I know exactly where
to start.” He reassured her, answering her unasked question.
“Gene!” She said, knowing his thought patterns.
“You know it! But first let‘s get you home. I‘ll
catch up with him tomorrow afternoon.” He said grabbing her bag and his, they walked out of the dressing room and headed
home.
“Look, Sir! I had no choice!” Gene spoke in the
phone in his hotel room. He had left the arena without a shower and rushed back to his hotel room hoping to get out of there
before Kane got back.
All the wrestlers were booked for the same hotel. Little did
he know, Kane and Lita had checked out before coming to the arena. They were going to go straight to the next town after the
show. But Kane was taking Lita home and wouldn’t be at the arena until tomorrow afternoon.
“Please Sir! I had no CHOICE!!” He screamed the
latter.
Something was said from the person on the other end. Then
the sound of a click flew through his ear. He sat there like a stone image, silent. Finally something knocked him back to
reality. He jumped from the bed, grabbing his bags and fled from the room.
He made his way down the hallway and to the elevators, looking
over his back. He came upon the elevators and waited impatiently for them to part. He watched as the digital lights told him
which floor it was approaching and announcing he was next. He gave a quick glance behind him one more time, making sure no
one was following him.
Then entered the elevators, as fast as they opened. He never
paid much attention to the two men standing behind him. He was too relieved he had got out of the room before the threat had
been carried out.
But when the elevator passed the lobby and headed for the
underground garage, he kept pushing the button to stop it’s descent. It was all in vain, as it reached it’s destination
and the doors parted to his destiny. All he felt, was the sharp pain that pierced the back of his head and the darkness that
fell on him.
Kane and Lita were woke out of their sleep from a shrill noise
that cut through the dead f night. Kane shot up in bed and reached over to the phone, taking it from the cradle. She spooned
herself into his back, drifting back off to sleep.
“Hello!” Kane yelled seeing what time the clock
showed. Three o’clock and he had to get up at six in the morning to catch a plane.
“Mr. Jacobs.” The familiar voice came through
loud and clear. Kane stiffen.
“Yeah!” He answered. Lita was half sleep when
she caught something in Kane’s voice. She slowly rose up him and rested her head on his shoulder. He touched her hand
softly. She knew!
“Tomorrow I will give you some information that will
help you find your baby. I‘ll have it special delivered to you, when you get to the arena. I have to go.” They
said then hung up. Kane sat there holding the phone to his ear for a long time. Only snapping out of it as he felt the gentle
squeeze of Lita’s hand on his shoulder.
“Kane! What is it? That person again?” She asked,
moving form behind him and into his lap. He stared into her eyes wrapping his arms about her.
“Yeah, baby! It was him again. He said he was going
to have a something special delivered to me at the arena.” He started. She nodded her had and waited for him to finished.
“He said it will give us some information on how to
find our baby.” He said, looking and searching her eyes. He saw it before she could cover it up. The pain of three months
ago hidden well.
“Oh my!” She said, taking in a deep breath and
letting it out. The tears fromed in her eyes, as she covered her mouth. Kane pulled her into him for strength. She pressed
her head, as far as she could into his chest. To hear the calming beat of his heart.
“It’s okay Lita, my love. It’s okay.”
He said, stroking her dark red flames. She tried to be strong and would have made it, if the past hadn’t caught up with
her. The doctor was right! She was still to fragile to deal with the loss.
“I have to tell you something.” She said between
sobs. Kane continued to console her.
“Okay.” He said. She wiped the tears from her
face, as they flowed.
“The doctor never released me. I told him I wanted to
go back on the road. But I promised to the limited schedule, if he would sign my release. He still wouldn’t, until I
signed something, stating I was going back to work against his advice.” She confessed.
Suddenly, Kane’s chest began to jiggle. Lita pulled
away and stared into his face. He had a grin on his face and was laughing. She was confused. She wiped the remaining wet tears
form her cheeks.
“Kane?” She said to him. he pulled her to him
and lightly planted a kiss on her forehead.
“I know baby. The doctor called me and asked if I could
convince you not to push yourself so hard. I told him to release you and that I would keep a careful watch over you.”
He told her. She stared at him, eyes wide and mouth opened. Then she plowed her fist into his chest and jumped from his lap.
“How could you be so deceitful?” She asked, pacing
back and forth in front of him. He stood up, down to a chuckle.
“Wait a minute now. Who was being deceitful? I felt
whenever you got around to it, you would tell me.” He looked at her. She stopped in her tracks and crossed her arms
over her chest. She thought for a moment and realized she started this. Her eyes went to the floor, then back up to him.
“Okay! You got me.” She said after careful consideration.
Kane nodded in agreement.
“Good. I’m glad you feel that way.” He said
and headed for the bedroom door.
She watched him leave and followed him down the stairs, into
the kitchen. He went to the refrigerator and pulled out two bottles of water. He handed Lita one, as she came up to him. He
leaned back on the counter, opening the bottle and took a drink. She took a sip from hers, then looked at Kane deep in concentration.
“I’m going on the road with you. I don’t
want you to deal with this alone. And I know I will go crazy not knowing what is happening.” She told him and walked
away, taking a seat at the kitchen table. Kane took a long gulp of water, finishing the bottle. Then he stared at her for
a long time, without saying a word. She took a breath and exhale. She hated when he did that.
“Okay! Now let’s get some sleep. There’s
nothing we can do tonight.” He said and walked out of the kitchen.
She sat there really confused. She thought for sure he would
put up some argument about how he would feel better if she was home and guarded at all times. But he didn’t. This left
her with an uneasy feeling.
Kane’s calm is like the eye of an hurricane. You think
it’s safe, until the storm hits with it’s fury. She rose from the table and clicked the light switch, as she made
her way up to their bedroom. Tomorrow is another day. What will it reveal?
Chapter Seven
Kane and Lita drove up to the arena and into the parking area,
designated for the company. They parked the car and walked into the building through the corridors. As they headed for their
room, they came up on a few of the wrestlers standing. They seemed to be in a very intense discussion.
One turned and saw them, then said something to the others.
Suddenly the all turned and stared at them parting to allow them passage. Lita stared each in the face curious to their actions.
Kane could care less, as he walked pass them without acknowledgment.
Lita looked back over her shoulders and watched as they came
together, murmuring something to each other and staring them down. Then Lita looked up at Kane, who continued on his way towards
their dressing room. He had gotten use to this years ago, when his big break came. They came to their room and went in, closing
the door to all outside.
“Damn upstarts. Always trying to stir things up.”
Kane flopped down in a chair. Lita went over to the couch and sat in it, folding her legs in front of her.
“I know you get a lot of heat at times, baby. But this
time was so much different. Something doesn’t feel right.” She said, shaking her head and thinking. Kane looked
over at her.
“Like what?” He asked, looking over her way.
“I don’t know Kane. I just think there is something
going on we don’t know and everyone else does.” She told him. AT that time a knock came at their door. Kane and
Lita looked at each other then the door. Kane got up and answered it.
“Yeah!” He said to a familiar staff person.
“Mr. McMahon wants to see you in his office. He said
to tell you it was very important.” The man said, voice trembling.
“Sure!” Kane said and looked back to Lita.
“I’ll be a few. Being called to he principal’s
office.” He joked other and left the room. Lita wrapped her arms about herself and went into deep thought. She just
couldn’t shake this uneasy feeling. Her cell phone rung. She reached over and pulled it from her bag.
“Hello.” She said, answering it.
“Mrs. Jacobs. I have the information you need to find
your baby. But I will give it to you on one condition.” He said to her.
“Condition! You contacted us after three agonizing months
to tell us out baby is not dead but alive. And to tell us you will tell us where to find it. Now you have conditions.”
She went off on him. Her nerves were not dealing with this right now.
“Calm down Mrs. Jacobs. I will keep my word. I promise
you that.“ He said. Lita felt the tear flow down her cheek, as she made a quick swipe at them.
“Okay! How much?” She said, figuring it out.
“What?” He asked., seemly stunned.
“How much is it going to cost us to get the information
you were going to supply us.“ She answered his question. A silence came form the other side. Lasting for several minutes.
Lita thought he had hung up.
“Hello? Are you still there?” She called to him.
“Yes I am, Mrs. Jacobs. I’m just offended. But
I guess people in your class would think it would be all about the mighty dollar. You can’t comprehend maybe this isn’t
about money. Maybe this is about being able to look yourself in the mirror and say, hey. You’re okay.“ He said,
with a little offensiveness in his voice.
“Okay! I’m sorry. It’s just that, this is
really wearing on me. How do I know you’re telling the truth. I mean after all I was only a few months. It would be
clinically impossible for the baby to have survived.” She tried to explain her position. Silence once again. Then!
“You know you’re right, Mrs. Jacobs. I made a
mistake. I won’t be bothering your husband or you again.” He said.
“Wait!” Lita called to him. Then waited for some
response. No click, she thought. That was a good sign. Then she heard someone at the door, thinking it was Kane. Then an envelope
was shoved under the door.
“The condition Mrs. Jacobs, is you must come alone.
If your husband comes with you, you will not get your child.” He said, then hung up. Lita stared into space for a very
long time, contemplating what she should do.
If she goes without Kane. He will feel she has betrayed him
yet another time. And if she doesn‘t go. She‘ll never know the truth about whether her child is alive or not.
A big decision. Her husband who she loves dearly. Or a child she doesn’t even know exist or not.
She closed the cell phone and laid it on the couch. Then hesitantly
moved towards the envelope and stared at it, as if it would jump up at her in a second. She went to the door, eyes never leaving
the letter and opened it, peering out. She knew she wouldn’t find anyone but the usual employees, but took a chance
anyway.
She closed the door, resting her hand on it for a few more
seconds. This was very hard. In that envelope contains information that would change everything. She bent down and picked
it up, examining it. She went back to the couch, sitting down began to open it. She pulled out the letter and read what it
said.
She brought the paper down to her lap and stared into space
for several minutes. If she was going to go, she needed to do it before Kane returned. He would never agreed to her going
into the hall by herself, let alone to where she was to go. She knew this place.
She grabbed her bag and rushed to the door, looked out and
left. She had to know the truth and hoped Kane would understand. Her cell phone laid content on the couch. She forgot she
had not put it back in her bag.
Chapter Eight
Kane paced back and forth in Vince’s office. he had
been questioned by the police as everyone had. All about the disappearance of Gene Snitksy. They had clips from the show and
how he had threaten Gene. The Police wanted to know if he had a chance to speak with Gene out side the ring.
“I told you I never spoke with him after the match.”
Kane held his hands between his head.
“Why is that? It’ seems he had some important
information to tell you. Why wouldn’t you want to see him immediately after the match?” The police asked him.
Kane looked down at the annoying detective and growled.
“Because moron. I told you I would speak with him on
my own terms. Besides I went to a bar because my wife and I had an argument.” Kane told him.
“What did you two argue about?” he asked, writing
on a pad. Kane had enough. He began to stalk up to the detective who slowly stepped back.
“None of your damn business. Now I will tell you this
for the last time, then I’m leaving. Understood?” Kane scowled. The detective bumped into the wall and nodded
his head.
“I have no idea where that scum Gene is. I went straight
home with my wife because I was concerned about her mental health. In case you didn’t know, we lost a baby a few months
ago. All because of Gene. He was bragging about doing what he was told. I wanted to know who told him. So I guess now I won’t,
since he is missing.” Kane snapped and back away from the man.
“Okay Mr. Jacobs. I’ll be in touch.” He
said, letting him know his session was over. Kane glared at him then to Vince.
“You have known me for a long time. I settle my problems
in the ring. And I would not deliberately harm any wrestlers.” Kane pointed to him and stormed out of his office. Vince
sat there feeling a little cheap. He was right.
Kane met a few of the same wrestlers who had been murmuring
behind his back. They smiled at him and said hello. Kane for the first time was taken back. Why the sudden change? He felt
they had overheard what he said to Vince.
“Lita!” Kane walked into his dressing room, to
inform her that Gene was missing. And it seems he was the prime suspect.
He looked about, not seeing her perched on the couch were
he had left her. He didn’t hear the shower going, but then why would she use it. She didn’t have a match. He looked
over and saw her cell phone lying on the couch.
“Well she couldn’t be that far, as she wouldn’t
go far without this.” He said to himself. And noticed there was a message on it.
Lita drove into the parking lot of the small quaint restaurant
she had been told to come. She sat there for a few moments, looking around to make sure she wasn’t being followed. Then
went inside and sat at the bar, waiting for some contact.
“Here Missy! I was told to give this to you.”
One of the bartenders said, handing her a note. She looked at him and took the letter, opening it.
“Thank you.”
She said as she read it. She was told to go to the address written down.
She
asked the waiter how to get there and he gave her the directions. She left the crowded place and headed down into a more seedy
area of town. She wasn’t quite sure of this, but her need to know had gotten the best of her.
Lita came to the
address. It was an old shack on a deserted street. He would ask her to meet him here, she thought. She was reluctant at first,
but the knowing whether or not her baby as alive, was greater than her fear.
She knocked on the shambled door. It slowly creaked open,
from her touch. Her heart was going pitter-patter. Now this is the time you turn and run, she thought. She eased the door
more opened than it had been and stepped in, one foot at a time.
She looked around into the empty room and seeing nothing,
felt it was safe enough to go in. She investigated more. It appeared to be one room. She wondered if he was somewhere lurking,
to see if she came alone or not.
She heard a
noise emanating from behind her. She turned to see what it was. A door was sluggishly opening. She felt it was the caller,
making his appearance. Seeing she had done as asked. Come alone. She walked towards the door and saw him standing there. She
breathed a sigh of relief.
“Oh my goodness. You scared me. Why did you pick this God forsaken place to meet?”
She rambled on. He never said a word, as he continued to stare at her.
“Oh my, I am going on and on. It’s
just that this place gives me the creeps. And I shouldn’t be here without anyone knowing where I am. And after all,
I don’t know if............” She abruptly stopped talking, seeing he wasn’t moving. Nor breathing.
His body did a huge spasmodic movement, then fell forward with such a force. The dust
flew up and surrounded him. Lita saw a large knife planted in his back, standing straight up from between his shoulder blades.
She covered her mouth and let out a shrill that could be heard
through out the quiet area. Once regaining her senses, she turned and ran from the place, with the swiftness of an gazelle.
She
made it out into the streets and continued to run, until she reached her car. She fumbled with the keys to get it unlocked
and opened. All the while looking back to the shabby building, where the dead man laid. She felt a hand touched her shoulder.
She turned around falling to the ground screaming to the top of her voice.
“Lita!” The familiar voice flowed into her ear.
She looked up into the face of her husband, Kane.
“Well he’s dead alright.” Kane told her,
examining the body. Lita elected to remained outside, as she watched her husband bent over the body. She had enough excitement
for the night.
“Someone murdered him?” She more stated then asked. Kane rose to his feet and flipped his
cell phone opened. Still looking down at the man. Then he walked out to where Lita was standing, holding herself.
“It
seems that away.” He replied and began to speak to the police.
“What are you doing?” She asked, when
she saw him talking to the police.
“We
got to call the authorities. They already think I’m responsible for the disappearance Gene.” He told her and closed
the phone. Lita stared at him amazed.
“Gene is missing? Wow! Kane something is definitely
going on.” Lita shook her head and stared at her husband. He gave he s certain looked, which let her know she wasn’t
off the hook.
“When we get back to the hotel, you got a lot of explaining.”
Kane told her and perked his ears. He thought he heard something. But it was over shadowed by the approaching sirens. Lita
stared at him then away, like a child caught doing something and awaiting their punishment. They never saw the figure hidden
in the shadows.
Chapter Nine
“So Mr. Jacobs. Once again we meet.” The Detective
who was investigating Gene Snitsky’s disappearance, walked up to Kane and Lita. Kane looked up into the air. Could things
get any worst? He thought. Then the man looked at Lita.
“Is this your wife?” He asked, pulling out a pencil
and pad. Kane glared at him, wanting to say something. Lita intervened.
“Yes. I’m Lita Jacobs. And yours Detective?”
She asked.
“Detective Stowe. Jack Stowe.” He told her. Kane
looked surprised and wanted to laugh. Lita jerked on his hand gently. Yeah, it sounded a lot like Jack Snow. But hey they
weren’t in any position to piss this man off.
“So would either of you like to tell me what you’re
doing here and not at the arena?” he started, staring from one to the other.
Lita shifted on one foot to the other. How were they going
to explain that this man had information about their baby? Kane was staring at the ground and taking in a deep breath, when
his cell phone went off. He pulled it out of his pocket and walked away, when he saw who was calling. The detective watched
him from where he stood, then turned his attention to Lita.
“So Mrs. Jacobs. Will you like to tell me why you two
are in this part of town and how were you connected to the dead man?” He started in on her. She felt as if he legs were
going to collapse under her.
“Don’t answer him.” Kane’s voice to
the rescue as he walked up on them closing his cell phone.
“If you’re going to charge us with the murder
then do so. Otherwise, I’m taking my wife home. Vince just gave us a leave of absence.” He glared at the detective,
then turned to Lita. He could see this had taken it’s toll on her.
“I’ll be in touch.” The detective said and
walked away from them. Kane took Lita in his arms and comforted her.
“Let’s go home, baby.” He said and lead
her away from the crime scene.
He opened the passenger side of the car and helped her in.
Then walked around the back of the car, to the driver’s side. At that moment, his eyes caught a glimpse of a shadow
walking away and disappeared. He paused for a moment. He had this feeling. A not so good feeling. With everything that had
happened.
“Why did Vince give us a leave? I just got back from
one.” She asked Kane. His mind was on the shadow and other things. But Lita touched his arm gently. He turned to her.
“I’m sorry. What was that you said?” He
asked. She stared at him strangely. Something was bugging him and it wasn’t what just happened.
“I said, why did Vince give us? You and me, a leave?
I just came back from one.” She repeated herself, watching him closely. He turned his head towards her.
“He thought with everything that was going on. Gene’s
disappearance, it would be a good idea for us to take some time to sort things out.” Kane told her. She looked at him
for a long time then, shifted her eyes towards the road ahead.
“Kane.” She said, not looking at him.
“Yeah.” He answered.
“How did you know where I was?” She asked, eyes
pinned to the road. His head slowly turned to her once again, staring for a great length of time. Which caused her to look
at him.
“I saw your cell phone and a message was left on it.
They were telling you not to come to the meeting place.” Kane told her. She half turned in her seat to him.
“Was it him?” She asked. Kane looked over to her.
“No! It was someone else. I guess they were warning
you.” He said, looking straight ahead.
“But how did you know where to find me?” She thought
for a few moments.
“They called me to tell me where you were going. And
that you were in danger. I guess they didn’t figure you would get the message in time.” Kane said. She stared
into space. This was getting too creepy for her.
She turned back around in her seat and leaned her head against
the window. Kane continued looking to the road. He was holding something back from her. He thinks they are being followed.
And he’s not sure if this is a friend or foe.
Chapter Ten
“What were you thinking Lita?” Kane started in
on her as soon as they entered their home. Lita walked passed him into the kitchen. She really didn’t want to hear this
now. She was tired and confused.
“Kane please!” She turned to him after reaching
into the refrigerator and getting her a bottle of water. Kane stared at her and went into the refrigerator and pulled out
a can of beer. Lita popped the cap off and took a drink.
“I don’t need you going off alone anymore Lita.
I have enough to worry about.” He sat down at the table and looked up to her. She could see fear in his eyes. She walked
over to the table and took a seat across from him.
“Baby, what is it?” She asked, placing a hand
over his and staring into his eyes. Kane looked down at her hand then back to her.
“We lost our child, Lita. I can’t bear to lose
you too. Something crazy is going on here and I need to know you will never go anywhere without me knowing it.” He said
to her, more pleading than demanding.
She looked into his eyes for a long while, releasing he was
afraid. Not only of what he had just said, but of something else. Her mind went back to where they found the dead man. Kane
seemed very spooked by something he heard and maybe even saw. Not to mention the phone call, warning him she was in danger.
“I won’t put you through that again. Whatever
is going on is very dangerous. First, Gene was going to tell you something and disappeared. Now this man, who was going to
give us some information is killed. We both need to be careful, Kane.” She rose form her seat and walked over to the
sink, staring out the window. Then turned to Kane. He looked at her and nodded in agreement.
“I’m going to bed. Coming?” He gulped down
the last of his beer. Stood to his feet, raised his arms high above his head and stretched out his tense muscles.
“No, you go. I’ll be up in a while. I need a little
me time to gather myself.” She told him. He walked over to her and planted a soft kiss on her forehead, wrapping his
arms around her waist and pulled her into his body. She placed her arms around his neck and gave him a deep lingering kiss.
“I love you.” She said after unlocking their lips.
Kane drew a deep breath and allowed it to escape.
“I love you more.” He told her, turned and walked
out of the kitchen. She stood watching after him for a long time. Then went over to the table and reclaimed her seat, as she
went into deep thought.
Kane walked up the steps, his mind wandering back to the whole
days event. He made his way into their bedroom, sat down on the edge of the bed and pulled off his boots. He wasn’t
so much as worried about Gene being missing, except for him being the prime suspect. Or the man who was killed. His only regret
there is, they didn’t get the information he had hoped.
His mind was on the person who called him, warning Lita was
meeting someone and was in danger. He had this creepy feeling someone was watching them. Not only did he hear them, but saw
their shadow as they disappeared. But who was she in danger of? Something in his guts told him, the dark past was rearing
its ugly head.
At that moment a shadow entered his room. He rose from his
bed and went over to the window to see who was standing in his yard. No one should have got pass his security gates or security
he had hired. Nothing!
He made his way downstairs to Lita. She was not in the kitchen.
He ran into the sitting room. There she was sound to sleep on the sofa. He moved over to her and slid in net to her. She snuggled
into him. He soon joined her in slumber.
The next morning, Kane left a sleeping Lita on the sofa. Showered
and made his way out to talk to his security, to tell them someone had made it passed the gates. He told them to inspect the
grounds and check the everything.
Lita woke while Kane was out. She left the sofa in search
of him, going up the stairs. She looked out the bedroom window and saw him talking to the head security person. Looking out,
she could see the others combing the property.
She stood there confused. She wondered what was going on.
The phone rung, jolting her out of her thoughts. Her head snapped towards the phone on the second ring. On the thirds she
was answering it.
“Hello!” She spoke into the receiver.
“Hello Lita!” The voice flowed through. One different
from the other. Maybe the one who warned Kane.
“Who are you?” She asked, hoping to get some information.
“Who I am really isn’t important. What matters,
Lita. Is your baby and you.” They continued. Lita, paused for a moment, bewildered.
“You know of my baby?” She asked.
“Yes! And I know where he is being kept. But there is
a problem Lita.” The voice had a eerie tone to it.
“Yes!” She replied.
“Your husband, Kane.” They said. Lita pulled the
phone form her ear and stared into it as if it was something she hadn’t seen before. Then placed it back over her ear.
“What about my husband?” She asked, curious.
“He doesn’t want you to know that the baby is
alive.” They informed her. Lita grew silent with the accusation.
Then she walked over to the window with the phone, staring
out at her husband. He loved her so much. She knew he did. His every touched told her so. The way he looked into her eyes,
convinced her of that. He wanted to protect her. He mourned their child’s death as much as she had. He wanted to kill
Gene.
“What the hell are you talking about? Kane knew nothing
about our child being alive. He was just as shocked as I was to find out he was still alive. Now I know this is some sick
crank. This conversation is finished. Don’t call here anymore.” She went to slam the phone down, when something
said stopped her.
“Lita wait! I won’t bother you anymore. But, I’ll
leave you with some thoughts to ponder.” The voice called to her. She stood quiet and waited. This was against her better
judgment, but the need to know was overpowering.
“Okay!” Her voice soften.
“Think about this. First Kane said he knew where you
were from a message on your phone. Have you heard that message? Then he said from an anonymous phone call. Interesting. Which
one is true. One, both or neither?” They started. Lita didn’t say a word, listening. He was bringing up so valid
points.
“And then there is Gene! He needed to tell Kane something,
but disappeared. Kane said he never spoke with Gene. He told you he was at a bar. How do you know that?” He continued.
Lita sighed lightly.
“And now your one source was killed. Think about this.
Doesn’t Kane’s actions of late seem as if he is drifting back to that insane side?” At that time, Kane walked
into the room. Lita’s head snapped around to him, as she held the phone to her ear.
“Okay! I’ll tell him.” Then hung up the
phone. Kane shrugged the his shoulders as she passed by him, setting the phone on the nightstand.
“Who was that?” He asked.
“That stupid detective. Nothing more to discuss. I’m
going to take a shower.” She said and headed for the bathroom. Kane never took his eyes form the phone. He could see
something in Lita. He wasn’t sure what it was, but knew he had to keep a close eye on her.
Chapter Eleven
Lita allowed the hot steamy water to flow over her head and
down her body. It soothed her muscles and sinews, relaxing the tension of the last few days. Her thoughts wasn’t with
how good the water felt, but the phone call she had received. Kane knew about the possibility their baby was alive? Played
in her mind. Or was this an sick attempt to break them apart?
She had to admit, Kane has been acting very strange every
since the day they first received the information that their baby could be alive. Well, she had too. As far as that goes.
She would have to look into things a little more.
She turned off the water and stepped out of the shower, grabbing
a huge fluffed towel and instantly wrapped it about her head. Then grabbed another and dried herself. Finished, she wrapped
the towel around her and took a seat at her vanity.
She stared in the mirror for a few moments, trying to shake
it out of her head, that Kane is merging back into the monster who had forced her hand in sleeping with her so many months
ago. Causing her to become pregnant and losing Matt.
She let out a low groan. That was a different time and a different
man. He has been nothing but attentive since the lost of their baby. And now he too is feeling the pain and agony of the possibility
the child may still be alive. If so, who was the arbitrator of this sick plan?
She picked up some lotion and squirted some in her hands,
rubbing it between her hands. She began to rub the warm moist cream on her arms and legs. Her mind went to her baby. If he
were alive, he would be so small and in a very delicate state. She wondered if they were taking good care of him. Or if he
was getting medical treatment.
“Damn!” She said, as she folded her arms on her
vanity table and rested her head on them. She stared at the wall, as the tears flowed down her cheek. She could never do this
in front of Kane. She had to make him think she was strong.
“Lita! Are you alright?” His voice came through
the door from the other side. Lita’s head shot up.
“Yes, Kane! I’m find. Just giving myself some
me time.” She replied. She let out a huge breath, her hand flying up to unwrapped the towel from her head.
“Okay! I thought I heard you crying.” He said.
She throw the towel to the side, then looked over her shoulder at the door.
“No baby. I’m fine.” She told him. Then
turned the dryer on, brushing out her hair and drying it. Kane stood on the other side of the door for a few, until the phone
rung. He turned to look at it, then went to answer it.
Lita thought she heard a ringing, but continued to dry out
her hair and brush out the tangles. Then she thought she heard Kane’s voice. She quickly set the dryer down, not wanting
to alarm him, went over to the door. Yes, it was Kane. His voice was muffled but loud. She put her ear to the door and listened.
“I don’t need or want your help. I can take care
of everything myself. Don’t call here again! Don’t talk to my wife! Leave us alone!” He said, slamming the
receiver back in its cradle.
Lita went over to the hair dryer and turned it off. Then to
the door and opened it. She stared into the face of Kane. He was looking down at the phone, when his head snapped around to
her, a she emerged from the bathroom.
“Someone called?” She said, nonchalantly. Kane
looked up at her shaking his head.
“No! I was just thinking.” He replied.
“Oh!” She nodded and went to sit on the bed, crossing
her leg over the other. Kane came to sit next to her.
“I’m going to go out for a few. You gonna be alright
here alone?” He asked. She nodded her head, thinking.
“Yeah! You go do whatever you have to do, Kane. I’ll
be just fine.” She looked into his eyes. She wanted to see that dark side in him, but couldn’t find it. All she
could see is his love and some concern.
“I love you Lita. So much!” He said this and encircle
her with his huge arms. She moved onto his lap and took his head between her hands. Their eyes locked in on each other.
“I love you too baby.” She said and captured his
lips. He responded. The kissed for a long time, embracing one another as if this were the last time they would see the other.
Lita’s towel fell open. Kane looked down and saw his
wife’s enticing body. He took in her the sweet scent flowing into his nostrils. He groaned, laying her down on the bed
and moving over her.
Lita began to tug at his shirt and freeing it from his pants,
pulled it off his body. Kane kneeled on the bed and between her legs, as she unbuckled and unzipped his pants. He turned and
sat down on the bed, pulling off his boots and pants. Then went back to Lita, kissing her deeply, moving over her once again.
She wrapped her legs around his waist.
The touched each other with the love and passion they had
to give, filling the room. The sound of their lovemaking exited their room and flowed throughout the home they had made for
themselves.
They danced together as one to the sounds emitting from their
bodies. Their breathing quick and shallow. Their heartbeats in rhythm with their bodies and reaching their plateau, each calling
out the others name. They plummeted back on the bed, exhausted. Kane’s little outing would have to wait, as he gather
his wife into his arms and they fell asleep in each other’s arms.
Chapter Twelve
Lita stood watching out the window, as Kane left in the truck.
She smiled as she remembered the lovemaking and the shower they took together afterwards. Kane told her he had something in
town to do and would come back and maybe they could go out to a movie or something. It had been a while since they had a night
on the town.
She watched as he disappeared from her site, heading down
the road. She turned away from the window and walked over to her closet, to pick out something to wear. She took out a tank
top and jeans.
She went down stairs after she had finished dressing and sat
on the sofa in the living room. She curled her legs up to her and picked up the remote control to the TV. She clicked the
button, running through the channel. Finally deciding she really wasn’t in the mood for watching anything on the TV,
clicked the off button.
She rose from the sofa and went into the kitchen to get her
something to drink. Opening the refrigerator, pulled out a bottle of water. She leaned back into the counter and popped the
top off the bottle, taking a long sip from it. She went into deep thought, when the phone rung. Jumped startled by the noise.
Then gathering herself walked over and answered it.
“Hello?” She said. She thought she heard a baby
crying in the background.
“Mrs. Jacobs! I hope you gave careful thought to what
I had told you. In a minute you will be getting something. Something that will convince you that your husband knew about the
child.” They said. The crying stopped in the back.
“Is that my son crying in the back? Are you taking care
of him? Is he getting good medical treatment?” She yelled into the phone.
“Of course he’s getting good attention. I wouldn’t
hurt him for anything in the world. After all, he is my blood!” They said and hung up the phone. Lita snatched the phone
from her ear and threw it away from her. She backed away as if it was some horrible creature.
Their blood! Lita’s mind began to race. Only two people
could be blood kin to Kane. Taker and Paul Bearer. Yes! Either of the two could be this diabolical. But would Kane align himself
to either? Maybe if this was a while back, she could think Kane could. But no, she knew this was someone who had it out for
Kane.
Her heart sunk when she thought her baby in the hands of either
one of them. This was just too much for her. She didn’t know how much of this she could take. A knock of the door almost
made her jump right out of her skin. She looked through the window in the door and saw one of the guards. She went over and
opened the door.
“Here Mrs. Jacobs! This was left at the gate by a delivery
truck.” He said, handing her a large envelop. She took in and stared at it curious. She wasn’t sure she wanted
to see the contents.
“Would you like me to stay, Ma’am?” He asked,
seeing the expression on her face. She looked up at him and smiled.
“No. That’s okay. I’ll be fine.” She
said and slowly closed the door, as he nodded, turned and walked away. She walked to the table and sat down, placing the envelope
on the table.
“Come on Lita! You can do it.” She whispered to
herself. She grabbed the envelope up and tore it open. She looked down at the contents, staring in disbelief. She let out
a small yelp and tossed it across the table.
Just as quick as she had tossed the envelope. She jumped up
from her chair like it was an hot seat and fell against the far wall, slowly sinking to the floor. She began to sob loudly.
This couldn’t be happening.
The contents was a picture of Kane holding their baby, smiling.
Under the picture it read: ‘Here’s for all the times you rejected my love. Now I have our son. Who do you have?
Your loving Husband Kane.’
Chapter Thirteen
Lita sat on the floor in the corner of their kitchen, crying
nonstop. The contents of the envelope had threw her for a loop. She couldn’t believe her eyes of what she had seen,
nor could she fathom what she had read. Yet, there it was! Evidence of what the person on the phone had warned her.
How could she had been so wrong?
Kane was more evil than even she had thought. He had touched
her in the right way. Kissed her just perfectly. Stared into her eyes and said the words convincingly. He had fooled her completely.
While all the time he was planning the ultimate payback.
“Kane, you sick bastard.” She said out loud and
came to her feet, arms wrapped about her mid section. She stumbled over to the table and looked down at the picture one more
time. The baby was so beautiful and yet so tiny.
“Oh God! Kaaaaannnneee!” She fell into the chair,
laying her head down and resting them on her folded arms. He made her love him to get her back, for rejecting him in front
of millions of fans.
She cried for the first time she agreed to sleep with him
and her losing Matt behind it. She cried for the pregnancy and the loss of the baby. She cried for falling in love with him
and all the times they made love. She cried for the pain piercing through her heart. Because she still loved him with all
of it.
Kane drove into town, happy. He had been planning this for
a long time. He was whistling a tune, something he found himself doing lately. He pulled up in front of the building and opening
the door jumped out. He closed the door and stared up one side of the street to the other. Then he walked towards and entered
a door.
“Hey! Is it ready?” Kane asked the man who exited
from the back. The man nodded and went back behind the curtains. Kane paced impatiently. This had gone so smoothly. Lita never
suspected anything.
“Here you go.” The man said, bringing out a basket
and setting gently on the counter. Kane stared down and smiled. Then looked up at the man and picked the basket up, left the
place.
Kane walked around to the passenger side, opened the door
and place the basket with its contents in the seat. After closing and locking the door, went around to his side and entered
the car.
“It’s okay little fella! Everything is going to
be just fine.” He said, turning on and backing the car up. Then drove off out of town. Kane picked up his cell phone
and made a call.
Lita had fallen asleep. Her mind drained form too much stress.
Her head rested on the table, on her arms. Suddenly, the shrill sound of the phone interrupted her small escape from reality.
Her head jerked upwards. She was beginning to hate that sound. But just because she had to know, she left the table and answered
it.
“Hello?” She said quietly into the phone.
“Hello Mrs. Jacobs. I hope you liked the information
I sent. Now I have something for you. Listen!” He said. Lita cocked her ear to hear. It was the cooing sound of a baby.
“My baby!” She said and began to cry.
“No need to cry Mrs. Jacobs. I said I have something
for you. Your baby needs you. So hear is what you’re going to do.” The voice on the other line told her. Then
gave her some instructions.
The guards at the gat watched as the sports car came up to
them and beckoned for them to opened the gate. They smiled and did as they were told, watching the car speed away and disappear
over the rising.
Kane sat the cell phone down on the seat and moved down the
road. The plan was had been set in motion. He smiled, as he continued on his way. Soon everything will be as it should. After
all, he is mastermind. But, no one believed it.
Chapter Fourteen
Lita came up to the place she was instructed. She turned off
the car and sat, thinking if this was a good idea. The last time she was going to meet someone, they were dead. If Kane hadn’t
come up, who knows what would have happened to her.
Kane! Now that was interesting. He knew exactly where to come.
he said someone called to warn him. But how did he get there so fast? Se thought. She opened the door to her car and exited
it. She stood staring at the abandon building.
Yes! Definitely a place to get lost for years and your body
being found half decayed. But, the sound of her baby cooing in her ear, was enough to make her move on without another thought.
She pushed the raggedy door opened and moved into it assessing
her surroundings. She didn’t want to get caught off guard. She slowly walked through the place, looking for someone
to announced themselves. Her wait wasn’t that long.
“Leee-ta! Leee-ta!” The voice came from everywhere.
Lita stopped in her tracks.
“Kane! You demented monster! How could you do this to
me?” She screamed, looking around for him to come out and show himself.
“How? You ask me how?” He mocked. Lita turned
around and around, trying to pinpoint where the voice came.
“Yes, I asked.” She was trying not to show him
any fear.
“Let’s put it bluntly. I loved you very much.”
He started. Lita interrupted.
“You call this love Kane? You forced my hand to sleep
with you.” She argued the fact.
“But in that union you became pregnant. Didn’t
that mean anything?” He asked her. She looked around, holding back the tears.
“I lost Matt behind the deceit Kane! I hated you very
much for what you put me through.” She told him, trying to discover the whereabouts of the person. She had a feeling
something as off with all of this.
“You said you hated. Does that mean your feelings changed?”
He asked. She stood in the midst of the building, exposed.
“When we lost our baby. As much as I hated you. You
gave me something I never had. Someone that was part of me. Someone who would be closer to me than anyone else in the world.”
She paused, fighting back the tears.
“And when we lost him, you were just as grief stricken
as I. We shared a baby developing and lost. I grew to love you because you gave me strength to fight back and get my life
together.” She looked around, tears flowing down her face.
“You never answered my question. Do you still hate me?”
He asked. She looked around at everywhere as she answered.
“No! I don’t hate you. I love you with all my
heart. I thought you loved me the same. I guess I was wrong.” She said, staring into space.
“Well, Lita! I do feel the same. But as much as I wish
you felt differently. I guess I have to except the fact your feelings have change.” He said. She looked around confused.
Then she heard a noise come from behind her. She turned and
watched as the figure came closer. She backed into the something behind her and fell over it, then tried to get back on her
feet. That’s when she felt someone’s hands grab her and lifted her off the ground, holding her as the person approached
them.
“Put her down Gene. I want her to look me in the eyes.”
The person told him. She felt her feet touched the ground. She turned to stare at Gene Snitsky.
“I thought you were missing?” She told him. He
shrugged, not saying a word. She looked at him a few seconds more, then turned to the other. Her gasped in disbelief.
“Matt?” She whispered, as he laughed. But her
shock was only beginning, as she looked to see another person emerging from the shadows. And they were carrying something
in their arms.
“My baby!” Lita said. Lounging for Trish, holding
the baby.
Chapter Fifteen
“Give me my baby!” Lita yelled struggling in the
arms of Gene Snitsky. Matt smiled and went to stand next to Trish, staring down at the sleeping bundle.
“Now, now Lita! We don’t want to upset the baby,
now do we?” He stared at her with evil intentions. Lita felt a chill run up and down her spine. How could she had ever
thought she loved this man? This isn’t the first time he has betrayed her. But is will be the last.
“How could I have ever loved you? Every time Matt. You
do this every time. And to think I slept with Kane to save your sorry ass.” She glared at him, relaxing in Gene’s
arms.
“No Lita! This time was you who betrayed me. I came
back to redeem what I did. And what do you do? You sleep with that thing. Gawd!” Matt’s face shriveled up at the
idea of Kane touching her. Lita looked at him for a long time.
“At least what he did was because he felt something
for me. That’s Kane! And even now he surprises me all the time. And you never do.” She told him. Matt ’s
eyes turned to dark slits.
“I guess that’s why you didn’t protect yourself.
Deep down in your hear Lita. You didn’t do it for me. You did it because you wanted him too.” Matt sent her a
revelation. Lita stared at Matt without protest. He turned away from her and walked away. What he thought all along was true.
“When I came to stop the marriage and we ran down the
ramp from him. Then he threw up his wall of fire, came down and threw my ass off the stage. You went back and married him.
Just like that, I was out of the picture. How do you think that made me feel?” Matt turned back to her, staring in her
eyes with both anger and pain.
“Matt I’m sorry! I saw you go down and knew there
was nothing we could do. We tried everything and lost. That was the finally straw, seeing your limp body laying there. All
hope just fled away.” Lita said, as tears fell from her eyes.
“Yes, you’re right. All hope did flee. And with
that my feelings for you. Well the love part that is. Now it’s replace for hate. And it’s just as strong as the
love. Kane and you will pay for what you have done to me.” Matt told her, taking the baby in his arms and walking away.
“Do what you want with her. I’ll take care of
the child.” Matt said over his shoulder, as he continued on hi sway.
“Matt no! Please Matt. I’ll do anything, just
don’t hurt my baby!” She screamed to the top of her lungs.
Matt never acknowledged her as he disappeared into a room.
Trish smiled deviously. Then walked over to a squirming Lita. Whose eyes were set on the door, of the room where her baby
was with a psycho Matt. So close, yet so far.
“By the way Lita. How was it?” Trish asked, bringing
her to what was at hand.
“When I get my hands on you.....” Lita started.
grabbing at her. Trish laughed and jumped backwards, taunting her.
“Ummm! It must have been good! You’re still doing
him. I think I might find myself in those arms someday.” Trish says, rubbing her hands up and down her body in a very
provocative manner. Gene felt himself responding, which Lita felt very well.
“You......BITCH!” Lita yelled and dug her fingers
into Gene’s arms, causing him to wench and let her go. Trish looked bewildered, as Lita speared her to the ground and
began beating the living daylight out of her.
Gene recovered and went after Lita, pulling her off Trish.
He picked Lita up in the air by her throat and tossed her over into some empty boxes. She landed with great impact, knocking
the breath out her.
She felt herself drifting off, as she looked up at Gene. She
knew all was a big joke on her. As Kane, her husband Kane came up behind a laughing Gene and stare down at her. She succumbed
to the comfort the darkness had to offer.
Chapter Sixteen
The darkness was consuming, as she felt herself floating on
its waves. . How long she drifted, she has no idea. Her body came to rest on something soft and smooth. All was quiet beyond
the unconsciousness she had fallen into. But now, cried out to awaken from this shroud.
The air penetrated her nostril, alerting that her mind was
slowly surfing from where it had found refugee. As her conscious emerge from the shadows and her senses became more aware
of what was outside her body. She felt something soft and smooth, around her body.
Her eyes lazily parted, taken in a dim lighted room. She allowed
them to adjust. Then the fog lifted from her mind and allowed it to take over. She was not alone in this unfamiliar place.
Someone was touching her, holding her hand in theirs. Her head turned to see who was so close to her. Kane!
“No!“ Her voice flowed over her dry throat, as
she jerked her hand free of his own. Kane’s head shot up to look into her terrorized eyes.
“It’s okay baby! Everything is fine.” He
tried to calm her down, standing up and leaning in and over her.
“No, I saw you with Gene before I went out.” She
yelled coming fully alert and sat up in the bed, pushing herself back into the headboard. She searched the room for some familiarity.
This was not Kane and her room.
“Yeah! That idiot dared to put his hands on and toss
you to the side like a bag of anything. And was laughing and stalking you to do more harm. No way! I grabbed his ass and choked
him senseless.” Kane nodded his head, walking down to the foot of the bed, not to frighten her anymore than she were.
Lita could see the anger on his face.
“Oh! I don’t know. This is so confusing. Someone
called and made me think you were in on our baby being taken at the hospital. Then they sent me a picture of them together.”
She held her head in her hands, trying to gather her mind.
“This one!” Kane handed her the one he found on
the kitchen table. Lita looked up and reached for it.
“Yeah! When I saw that, it broke my heart. I thought
you had gone back on the dark side and was getting me back for how I was before we fell in love. That is if you did and do
love me.” She looked up into his eyes. Kane returned the gaze. There she saw what she knew in her heart all along.
“Lita I love you more and more each day. You are my
soul mate. No other woman has made me so complete. You and I are like the Phoenix. What was between us died, when we thought
our baby had. Then out of the ashes, our love for one another rose and became. We’re meant to be.” Kane told her
as he came closer and sat on the side of the bed. She listen to how beautifully he put it. She was touched, reaching out to
him with out stretched hands. He took her into his arms and sat her on his lap.
“I love you Kane! Thank you for loving me. You saved
me.” She told him, kissing his lips. He embraced her and deepen the kiss, tasting her. Then he pulled his head back
slightly, ending the kiss.
“But we aren’t along. We’re a threesome.”
he told her, as his head went over to a far corner and watched someone rise to their full length. She looked and watched them
emerge from the shadow and lurk towards them. When the light hit she saw them for who they were. But was more shocking was
what they were holding.
“Undertaker? My Baby! What‘s going on here?”
She had so many questions, but wanted her baby more than anything. Undertaker came to stand before his brother and his wife.
He leaned in and handed her the sleeping child.
“Take care of my brother and nephew. But then I know
you will. I must go! I have some things that need attending.” He said, turned and disappeared from the room. Lita removed
the blanket that surrounded her baby and tossed it away. She didn’t want him in anything those assholes had clothed
him.
She held him in her arms and cried, as she looked down on
him. She never thought this day would come. Kane gave her a gentle squeeze and peck on the cheek. His family finally safe
and together.
They were at a ranch Undertaker and him had inherit form their
family. No one knew of it. This is where they would be until he has determined who was the real mastermind of this caper.
He knew those three clowns weren’t.
Matt, Trish and Gene sat in the holding cell until either
their bail was paid or they were arraigned and transported to the county jail. Trish paced back and forth in a cell apart
from the two men. She kept throwing glares at Matt.
“What’s your problem?” He shot over to her.
She stopped and grabbed the bars in her hand, sticking her head as far as it could go between two.
“You two are my problem. You can’t do a damn thing
right. All we had to do was snatch the baby and hold it until further instructions.
I told you it wouldn’t be a good idea to play this game
with her. But no, you had to allow your feelings to get in the way. Your big ego as to why she preferred a quarter steak to
ground beef. It’s self explanatory.” Trish baited him.
“Whatever slut!” Matt yelled and turned his head
to see one of the guards coming their way. And the way he was searching t\his key, they were going to be release. Which could
be a good or bad thing.
“All of you are free to go. Your bails were paid.”
He said, first unlocking Trish’s cell then Matt and Gene’s. The three met up out side their cell and stared each
other down. The guard then led them out to a room where they collected their belongings.
They walked through the doors of the building out to the curb.
They stood, waiting for their benefactor. At that moment, a long black limo pulled up in front of them and they got in. It
drove away. For a long time there was silence. Each staring at the one who released them. And also the one who had hired them
to kidnap the baby.
“I’m not very please with the outcome of all of
this. Now I have a very difficult decision to make. What am I going to do with you three?” He picked a grape from the
platter of fruit in front of him and popped in his mouth. The three stared at one another then at the man.
Chapter Seventeen
“I told Matt not to do anything. I told him to wait
for your instructions.” Trish pleaded her case.
“Shut up you slut! You had just as much fun torturing
Lita as I did.” Matt yelled at her.
“You two are getting on my nerves. I sat back and took
orders from you, become I was told to do so. If anyone should pay for this failure, it shouldn’t be me.” He snapped,
tired of weeks of their constant bickering. The man took a napkin and wiped his hand, listening to the three passing the fault
to the other.
“We’re at our destination, Sir!” The voice
came over the intercom.
“Thank you, John! Gene, I need you to come with me.
My driver will take you two to a secluded place. Stay there until I send word to you. And this time, wait!” He said,
staring long and hard at them. Both nodded in fear.
He gesture to Gene who opened the door, as the man stepped
out in front of a two story house. Gene then closed the door. They watched as the limo wind its way down the road and disappeared.
“Gene I kept you around for a good reason. Don’t
make me regret it. Those two can’t be trusted. If word got out what I did. I would be a dead man. Not that I’m
not already one. Or should I say an undertaker.” He said and laughed. They turned and walked towards the house. Gene
opened the door and stood back as the man entered. He followed the man and closed the door.
“Kane! What’s with your brother and you bonding
all of a sudden?” Lita asked, laying the baby between them. Kane handed the baby his huge finger to grip.
“Well, remember when I told you someone called to warn
me of your danger?” Kane reminded her. Lita looked up at him and nodded.
“Yeah!” She said, listening carefully. Kane turned
on his back and stared up into the ceiling.
“It was Taker! He felt something was up with Trish and
Matt. It happened after we married. They seem to bond.” Kane explained to her.
The limo made it’s way through the gate and out onto
the streets. Taking its occupants to a place unknown to them. Trish stared out the window, trying to get a fix on where they
were going. But the windows were tinted black. She didn’t trust the man who had hired them. He was known to screw his
own family. What would made them any different?
Matt stretched out on the seat in opposite her. He was glad
this whole thing will soon be over and he can get back to wrestling. Trish turned her attention from outside to him. How could
he rest at a time like this. Her mind went back to when they were first approached.
“I overheard you two talking. I know Trish how much
you hate Lita. And Matt, you can’t sit back and let them humiliate you in front of millions of fans.” Matt and
her were in a quiet little bar, going over how much they wish they could pay both Kane and Lita back. When the person came
up to them with the plan.
“Did he know that the baby had lived and been kidnapped?”
She asked, playing with the baby. Kane looked over to her.
“No, he was just as much in the dark about that as we
were. It wasn’t until I told him someone was saying the baby was alive, that he began to watched the two carefully.
And when Gene disappeared, he knew something was up.
“How did he know I was in danger?” She asked,
staring into his eyes, as he turned back on his side.
“I’m not really sure on that. He wouldn’t
say how he knew. That’s why I told him to leave us alone and not to call anymore. I felt he was not trustworthy.”
Kane sighed and looked down at his son.
“So that’s who you were yelling at when I was
in the shower.” Lita sat up and backed into the headboard. Kane looked at her and nodded.
They were surprised, but then they weren’t. They thought
he was on the good side now. But knew he had betrayed Kane before. So they agreed to go alone with it. Gene was brought in
to get the ball rolling. It was a full proof plan, until Matt got all personal with it. The limo came to a stop. Trish quickly
shook Matt to wake him up.
“Yeah! I just wasn’t trusting anyone when it came
to your safety. Not even him.” Kane said, picking up his son and placing him on his chest. Lita smiled, this was a happy
moment. Then a frown crept across her face. She touched Kane’s arm with her hand. He looked up at her.
“What is it?” Kane asked. Lita looked down at
him with fear in her eyes.
“We may not be out of the woods Kane. And you may have
every right to distrust Undertaker.” Kane laid the baby on his chest and looked over to Lita. He could see she was concerned.
The door to the limo opened and the driver stood back for
them to exit. Trish went first and looked around to a field. She went to go back in when an hand pulled her back. She stared
up and gasped. Matt slowly came out and stood up to see who was holding Trish.
“Undertaker?” He said, confused.
“Why is that? He hasn’t done anything to harm
us yet. He’s been very helpful.” Kane reminded her. She shook her head.
“While you were gone. I got another phone call. I don’t
think Trish, Matt or Gene worked alone.” Lita said, staring at Kane. He nodded his head in agreement.
“Yeah! I don’t think either of them have the brain
cells to pull this off. But what was said that make you think we shouldn’t trust Taker?” He asked, caressing his
son’s back.
“Something the person said, made me feel they were related
to you.” She informed him. Kane paused and looked at her.
“What?” He asked. She took in a long breath and
let it out.
“They told me he was getting good attention. And that
they wouldn’t harm him. This is the part that got me. They informed me, he was their blood! Then hung up the phone.”
She told him and saw the expression on his face go through a metamorphosis.
Kane handed Lita the baby, then moved from the bed. He walked
back and forth, rubbing his head. Could Taker be playing him? It’s not like he hasn’t drawn him in only to betray
him. But that was when it was just him. Now he had both Lita and his son to protect.
“Let’s get our things together. We need to get
out of here and back to the house. I have enough security to keep us safe for the night. I’ll deal with Taker in the
morning.” Kane said moving about the room gathering their things.
Undertaker sent the driver on his way, with a warning to never
reveal anything. The driver bowed his head and drove away in the limo. Undertaker turned to Matt, his hand gripping Trish‘s
arm.
“You two will come with me. Then we will play a little
game.” He informed them.
“What kind of game?” Trish asked. Undertaker looked
at her long and hard.
“One thing you will learn little girl. Keep your mouth
shut! I do all the talking. Now follow me.” He looked from her to Matt, then began his journey across an opened field.
In the distance the outline of an house could be seen.
Chapter Eight
Undertaker made his way through the wooded area heading for
the house coming closer to them with each step. He kept Trish and Matt in front and directed them where to go. He wasn’t
taking any chances on either to dart and run. Not that they would get far as there wasn’t anything for miles around
but the woods.
Trish walked as fast as her short legs would take her, hanging
onto Matt’s shirt to help her long. Matt was too busy thinking of what will happen when they got to the house. He looked
up and saw the house come into sight. Undertaker pass them up and led them the rest of the way as they stepped up on the porch.
Kane grabbed up his son and made his way out of the room and
down the hallway with Lita close behind. They needed to get out of there before Undertaker got back. No telling what kind
of diabolical plans he had in mind. Well, Kane could. He was just as dark.
Kane made it to the front door and opened it. Then stepped
back, causing Lita to bump into him. He stood staring the face of his brother and the other two behind him. Lita peeked a
head from behind Kane and looked to see what had cause him to freeze up.
“Going somewhere Brother, before you talk with these
two?” Undertaker asked, walking into the house, pass his brother. Kane looked at Matt and Trish, shivering in fear.
They had no idea they would have to face the fury called Kane without protection. Or his red-headed spitfire, that has become
known as Lita.
“Lita! Take our son to the room. My brother and I have
something to do.” He handed the baby to her and turned to the others.
“You two might as well as come in. It’s very cold
outside, but it will get warm in here. That I promise.” Undertaker told them and walked away. Kane stared down on them,
as they scurried in passing him and followed Undertaker.
“What do you mean they never came?” The man hollered
into the phone. He had just gotten word from one of his henchmen Matt and Trish never showed up.
“You listen to me real good. Find that damn driver!
When you do bring him to me. He will regret the day he betrayed me!” He slammed the phone down. He began to pace the
floor, rubbing his chin. Something went wrong somewhere. He looked over to Gene sitting and watching him confused.
“Matt and Trish never made it. Somehow they were intersected.
But by who?” He began to pace.
“Maybe they paid the driver to get them out of town?
You know they’re terrified of you. Same here.” He looked wide eyed at the man. He stopped and gave him a quick
glance, shaking his head.
“No! The driver would never betray me with those two,
their nothing. Either someone ambushed him or someone he feared more has gotten to him.” The man pointed his finger
in the air to make a point.
“Who could that be?” Gene asked then drew back
as the man turned to him glaring. Then this horrified look came over his face. They know. He ran over to the phone and dialed
a number, waited for someone to pick up. Hearing the salutation, cut them off.
“Get in here fast. We need to leave. Gather everything
important. Leave nothing.” He yelled into the phone, then hung it up.
“Start helping me get this paperwork packed. I don’t
know how much time we have, before they come.” He ordered Gene, who jumped up without hesitation.
“Who Sir?” Gene asked gathering and putting papers
in folders. The man never stopped cleaning out his desk.
“Two people you should fear more than me. Undertaker
and Kane!” He told him.
Gene had run into Kane and really didn‘t want to do
that. He had never met Undertaker. Kane was enough. Both was just down right unthinkable. He got where the man was coming
from and sped up his progress. He wanted to get out there as much as his benefactor.
“And that’s how we got involved with him.”
Matt and Trish had just given Undertaker and Kane all the information the needed. Kane stomped around the room in a rage afterwards.
He wanted to take them both and set a bonfire. But Undertaker refrained him.
While Undertaker and Kane had listen to the tale Matt and
Trish had told them, no one saw Lita lurking in the background listening to it all. She was shocked to hear who it was that
had convinced these two losers to help him get back at Kane.
While Undertaker was calming Kane. She flew into the room
and pounced on Trish. She had gotten in a couple of good hits before Kane had wrapped his huge arms around her waist and lifted
her off Trish.
“You bitch and you son-of-a-bitch! You first tried to
kill my baby, then stole him from me?” Lita yelled to the top of her voice. Kane held her to him, trying to keep his
anger down, seeing her so upset.
“Lita!” Matt started, but was interrupted by Kane.
“Don’t speak to My wife, ever again. If I even
see you looking her way, I’ll kill you with my bare hands.” Kane’s voice calm and angry. His eyes dark slits.
Matt stared at him for a instant then turned away.
“You know what Matt? Everything happens for a reason.
Kane saved me from a shit head like you. To think I loved you at one time. Taking all the crap you threw at me and loved you
anyway. It wasn’t until Kane, I found out what was real love. He would never do anything to hurt me.” She told
him and turned into Kane. He embraced her, caressing her back to calm her shaking body. She sobbed.
“As I said before. If either of you come near my family
again, I’ll kill you.” Kane told them, walking Lita back to their son. Matt and Trish looked at each other, then
to the rustling of feet their side. They had forgotten the other.
Chapter Nineteen
Undertaker had listen to Matt and Trish tell him about how
this whole scenario came to be and who was the leader. He watched Kane want to tear them apart and his sister-in-law, Lita
nearly beat the hell out Trish. If it had been him, he would had let her. She need to release that anger on the one who caused
it.
“I’m not as generous as my brother. I would have
allowed her to trash your ass, Trish. You as a woman should no better, than to come between a mother and her child. Your worst
than dirt.” Undertaker lashed out at her. Trish began to cry. She didn’t know what was going to happened to them.
“Stop!” Undertaker commanded. Trish stifled quickly,
breathing in long and hard.
“You two are going to go back to your hotel rooms, get
cleaned up. Then get some rest. You’re going to need it. I’ll be talking with Vince and the creative team on RAW,
to see how we can keep both of you busy for the next year or so. Since your idle minds get you in trouble.” Undertaker
stood leaning on the wall with his arms folded across his chest. Matt and Trish sat quietly. They could only think what was
in store for them career wise.
“But what if he comes after us?” Matt asked ,
looking from Trish to Undertaker. Undertaker pushed off the wall and took a few steps away from them.
“He won’t. He’ll be too busy running form
Me!” Undertaker informed them.
“No my Brother. He’ll be running from Us!”
Kane said, coming back into the room. Undertaker looked to his brother, placing a hand on one of his shoulders.
“No Kane! Allow me to do this, its better I do it than
you. Your family’s protection, is your foremost job. I have no one and it’s me, he’s angry with. But I’ll
save some for you.” He said and beckon for the two on the couch to come to him. The came to him, keeping plenty of space
between Kane and themselves.
Kane didn’t protest as he watched his brother and the
idiots leave the house. He went to the window and watched them disappear into the woods. Undertaker was right, he had a bigger
and better job now. Protecting his family. He turned from the window, hearing the cooing noise behind him. He stared as Lita
came up to him with their son.
“They’re gone?” She asked, looking pass
Kane around the room.
“Yeah, they’re gone!” Kane answered her,
slightly rubbing the back of his hand on his son’s cheek. He giggled.
“Good! I don’t know how much more I could take
them being here.” She began to get upset. Kane bent down and kissed her forehead. Then he placed his hand in the small
of her back, leading her to the family room, before a nice fireplace.
“Sit!” He told her, she did as asked, holding
her son. Kane sat down beside her and hooking a finger under her chin, turned her head towards him. He stared deeply into
her eyes. She returned the gaze.
“It’s time to put the past behind us. But we will
always hold on the things that are vital. Right now I want to concentrate on us making up the time we had lost with our son
and other things.” Kane told her. She closed her eyes and nodded. He was right. What they have now is what counts.
“But now knowing who it was that did all of this, how
do you feel? And can you really trust Taker?” She asked, staring at him. Kane turned away from her and sat back on the
couch, resting his head.
“I feel nothing. He was never did anything to help me.
All he did was made me into a monster. Until you came along, everyone has betrayed me. As far as my brother is concern. Neither
of us truly trust the other. We have done too much to one another to be trusting. But hopefully one day that will change.”
Kane looked over to her. She nodded.
“I would like that. I feel at heart Taker is a good
person and loves you very much. I think both of you know where the problem lies.” She stated. Kane nodded. Yeah, he
knew.
“I have another question.” She said.
“Okay!” He said, looking over at her.
“Where did you go today?” Lita asked. Kane looked
at her curiously.
“After we did the do and I got another phone call, along
with the picture.” Lita helping him to recall the days events.
“Oh yeah!” He said and smacking his forehead,
jumped up from the couch and left the room. Lita followed him curious. Then watched as he came back into the room carrying
a basket. he sat it down in front of her and her little dog jumped out and ran, barking about the room. She let out a laugh.
“Kane!” She said. He flopped back on the couch
and took their son. Lita quickly got on the floor and began to play with him.
“I knew you were missing him. I had him groomed and
everything.” He told her. Lita gazed up into his eyes and he to her. This felt right. This is where they belonged. No
more wondering. They had finally found their place. Out of the ashes, they had survived.
Epilogue
The man hurried into the safe house, no one knew of. He always
made sure he had one. It’s a poor rat that only has one hole to run into, he always said. He took off his jacket and
laid it across the chair.
Gene entered with some boxes and sat them down as directed.
Then went out to the car for more. The man went over to the bar and pulled out a bottle pouring himself a drink. Gene came
in with the last of the boxes.
“That’s it Mr. Bearer! The other guys will bring
in the rest.” Gene walked over to Paul. He took a big sip of the drink. He was clearly flustered.
“I should have known not to deal with those two. They
were screw ups from the beginning.” he took another sip, finishing the drink off. Then he poured himself more, went
to take a seat on the couch and loosen up his tie. Gene took a seat in a chair.
“So what is it you want me to do?” Gene asked.
Paul looked over to him.
“Go back to the WWE. Tell them whatever you want. But
my big advise is to tell them nothing about you were with me. As far as Matt and Trish, I doubt they will say one word. So
do the same.” Paul advised him.
“What about you?’ Gene asked. Paul left the couch
and began to pace.
“As for me. I’ll have no choice but to stay invisible
for a while. Undertaker and Kane are not that forgiven. They could well be on my trail at this moment.” Paul looked
over to Gene, whose eyes grew.
“I guess I better go.” Gene said, heading for
the door. He could clearly see that Paul hadn’t quite thought out his options. And the fear emitting from his eyes proved
that Undertaker and Kane were two forces to reckon with.
Paul laughed to himself, watching Gene scurry away. He took
a sip of the drink and sat back down on the couch, staring at a wall. When will he learn not to mess with those two? But then
what else do family do to each other, if they aren’t messing?
Undertaker had dropped both Matt and Trish off at their hotel,
with a warning. They were grateful they had gotten through this with their lives. No way were they going to say a word.
His thoughts went to how happy Kane seemed. Lita had done
him good and he her. He knew they didn’t trust him fully. But why would they? He hadn’t been the brother he should
have been over the years. And he knew why.
He had thought his brother died in the fire with his parents.
But he hadn’t. He had been fooled into thinking he was Paul Bearer’s son, who treated like a monster. Then used
Kane try and destroy him.
This has been it for the last several years with them. Paul
turns against one or the other, than uses the other to go after the other. He has been the nucleus of their feud. Maybe without
him, they could move on to being true brothers.
He came out of his thoughts, coming to his destination. He
wasn’t really expecting to find him there, but maybe he could find something that would lead him to the one who has
antagonize them for years. He stepped up on the porch, seeing the door opened.
Undertaker then walked into the huge two story house, searching
for the low life that had tried to harm his brother and family. He went from room to room, seeing everything thrown about
and half emptied. He gathered he had gotten a tip, that he was found out.
“It’s okay! You can run, but ya cain’t hide!
I’ll find you. And when I do, you’ll pay for the pain you put my brother and I through over the years.”
Undertaker said, walking out into the dark.
